Sting Box Set coming out in September

Unfortunately, the only Police/$#!@&-related items that I would purchase with my hard-earned cash (Craig Bett's book, Police Around the World with Police in the East, Gert's documentary, the US festival, Stewart's derangements, and countless other cool stuff) have been cockblocked by a certain anthropomorphic insect and the hive surrounding him. In fact, I don't know if I'll buy any merchandise when they will be practically giving them away for free during the Border's fire sale like they were doing the first go around back in the spring when they couldn't even give away all the copies they had of the Winter and the Nymphonicites CDs. I wonder if he's perform at the Jiffy Lube Live Amphitheater again to support this.

This gets my vote for Post of the Year Award, even if it's only July.

And if you look at the track list, there's nothing new, except the live tracks. No B sides. Another Day? Conversation with a dog? I Miss You Kate? Ghost In The Strand? Love Is The Seventh Wave extended mix? Nothing from the Soul Cages Concert or The Universal Amphitheatre show. None of the songs he did for soundtracks - My One and Only Love, Someone To Watch Over Me, Up From the Skies...

The only thing that interests me is the book. But what more can be said that wasn't in the lyrics book a few years ago, and wasn't in Broken Music?

I believe Mr. Sting created his best while working w/ a couple other musicians who were mint at stirring his creative pot.

I'm very late to this topic, but I just found out what they're charging for the box set. The price is beyond ridiculous.

Anybody who has bought all of Sting's albums already has all the songs. "Remastered" is marketing gimmick/hype to sell you what you already have. Have those live versions appeared on CD singles? Because I have them all. If so, there's nothing new on the CDs.

As for the DVD, couldn't they have included the entire show? Everybody understands the conditions weren't perfect but anybody who buys this product is obviously a big fan and would have loved it.

I can't understand why The Police and Sting (Yes, I'm making a distinction.) have released so few live videos. These guys are known as some of the greatest live performers ever, yet there are only a handful for full video productions documenting their performances.

As far as I know, Synchronicty and Certifiable there are the only two official full Police concerts that have been released here in the U.S. I can't play the Gateshead show I bought because it's encoded for another region. According to the Police site, the Hatfield show is also a Japanese-only release. Why?

There are some awesome live performances on Police Around The World. Unfortunatley, many of them are incomplete, with other material edited in the middle of the song.

Sting has gone on seven world tours to support each of his seven studio albums. I've seen at least one show for each of those tours. They're great because every time it's a different line-up on stage. Yet only two of those tours have been released as full live shows- Brand New Day and The Soul Cages. Only Brand New Day is available in DVD.

It would be great if Stewart or somebody at Police HQ/Sting-land would take the time to release these gems for the viewing pleasure of fans. I'm sure none of the trio needs the money, but it would be nice for us to have.
