POLICE IN THE EAST on BBC (June 3)

According Stingus.net....Annie Nightingale's 1980 BBC Documentary Police In The East, will be shown on BBC4 on June 3, as part of Annie Nightingale Night.

Hope some Brit fans recording it on HD signal and burn it for DVD or Blue Ray.

What is the definitive story behind this? Is it just a different edit of Police Around The World, or a totally different film?

"In The East" was shown on British TV rather early and didn't include any material from Zenyatta Mondatta. A lot of stuff is identical to the first half of "Around The World", but there are indeed some different live songs !!!

i have no technology to capture this... although the new cheap telly in the bedroom has a USB input and threatens that one can record onto it, i doubt it's that easy tho i'll give it a go.

Hi first post on here. I have cable tv and a dvd recorder if that is of any help for anyone. I will do a few practice runs first before the big event Friday.

I will try and record too .. i remember getting up at six one Sunday morning when it was 1ST on back in 80,81 bbc2 i think, Anne introduced it bleary eyed . i have it on vhs ... but a dvd copy now theres a thought !

Hi again all,

Just checked the BBC website regarding the Police in the East programme. Silly me got my dates wrong thinking it was tonight. However it will be broadcast on BBC4 on the following dates:

Fri 3 Jun 2011 22:00
Sat 4 Jun 2011 02:25
Mon 6 Jun 2011 00:40

Therefore if I mess up next Friday at least I have two more shots at it!!!!

Will also check if it appears on the BBC iPlayer section of the website after next Friday's broadcast. Will keep everyone posted.
