Andy Summers of The Police @ The Duck May 21st, 2011

Andy Summers recently spent the week recording at Big Yellow Duck for the upcoming documentary film based on his autobiography, One Train Later (pictured with BYD engineer Ryan Heiferman). Mr. Summers read excerpts from his book and was interviewed by director Lauren Lazin (The Last Days of Left Eye, Tupac Resurrection). It was a thrill to have Andy here but we made sure to play it cool. Most of us here have been around celebs before but Andy is a ROCK STAR. Big Yellow Duck co-founder and executive producer Matt Pedone in particular had to contain his excitement. "When (producer/director) Brett Morgen called to ask if we could fit Andy Summers in for a doc he was producing, my first reaction was that he was putting me on. Like as if I was going to say no! By the end of the week, it was sad to say goodbye to producer Katy Garfield, Lauren and Andy. We had gotten so used to having them around the studio. On the last day, I sheepishly asked Andy to sign my original vinyl copy of Regatta De Blanc for my son and he did so graciously."

We hope to have him back again soon!
