OT sooooooo is it bad

to play Police music in my daycare???? ..... I couldn't stand to hear "old McDonald" So on went The Police and a bit of Rock Lobster for good measure ......they loved it ....(( My problem child started air drumming) As we all know there are no problem children you just have to play the right music )

I'm really loving the thought of kids going home singing Police songs (and Rock Lobster!) to their parents.

My friend's 4 year old daughter loves singing along with "De Do Do Do" in the car.

I never could stand kid music and never played it for my kids at home or in the car. Sometimes we would listen to classical but I can only take so much of it before I want to hear something familiar. I did buy some Disney cd's because Disney is my other obsession, and I thought the kids would like to hear the songs from the movies and the rides. My kids like Aerosmith, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay and of course the Police. Just the other day my 10 year old son said Sting must be a sore loser because he "can't stand losing"! My daughter reads my Rolling Stones and watches Mark Hoppus with me. I'm hoping her obsession with Lady Gaga is temporary though. Maybe she will discover metal in her teen years ;-P

I was a Beatles addict by the time I was 5 years old. I basically never looked back. I grew up on my mom's 60s rock-and-folk lps and loved it, and just hope to someday be able to introduce a child of my own to the music I love - forget that crappy "kids music" that's out there today - ugh!

I see nothing wrong at all with this. (my 3 yr old son now sings black sabbath in the car - "I am Ironman" - nonstop every morning on his way to preschool, so I guess my viewpoint is a bit off kilter, but whatever.)

Stewina was conceived and born during the Police tour so she was listening to The Police before she was born her lullaby was Driven to Tears Yes Driven to tears! She picked it. I noticed that she would fall asleep to this song when Andy solo would come on she would give a yawn and fall fight off to sleep

I grew up dancing to Elvis and listening to the Stones

I thought that in a daycare kids would want to listen to Kids tunes but hay they liked it..... Maybe I'll have a rock Star week....

I think it's awesome - and you should show them Stewina's awesome rendition of DoDoDoDa

My daughter teaches preschool and plays world music for the kids - there's a lot of reggae kid's music! Parents love it!
