Miles Copeland book

Wouldn't it be great IF Miles Copeland would write a book about his life and his biz???
After Ian's amazing book, and Stewart's wonderful reading, I sincerely MISS something from Miles; how many anedocts he may have to write about, how many stories about so many discovered bands, how many hidden secrets about managing The Police....
Let's make some noise and let him know we would love to have HIS book as well!
Keep the beat!

Agreed, you have no idea what I'd give to just talk to the guy for a couple hours about marketing and promotion. He is pure genious. I hope he gets to see this and that there's an interest

As soon as there will be more feedback, I will tell Stewart to tell Miles to check it out!
I do a similar job, I do manage a couple of bands as well as working in the labels world, distribution deals, touring, marketing, etc...etc... and Miles is a point of reference to me; when I read Ian's book I learned so much!!!

Oh that would be cool. He needs to write a book based strictly on promotion and how to create a public persona. If I said it once, I'll say it a million times, I really don't think there's anyone out there better

I hear ya, but I have to disagree. This is nothing more than my personal opinion, and it's value is debateable. But if it wasn't for Miles, not a single one of us would have a clue who another was. This site would not exist. Dietmar and I might even be bidding for Mr Mister memorabilia... But if The Police didn't exist, would there even be a Mr Mister..... oh nevermind.

What makes Miles a true genius is his marketing strategy. Fuck the record company, we'll pay our own way. It was unheard of in those days. When I read that he made reporters sign waivers so that they could only publish Miles approved pics, that was unheard of. Reporters were dumbstruck. No one had ever told them shit like that, yet they agreed to it. They did that because Miles the salesman scared the crap out of them. He was so out there that they thought if they didn't agree, someone else would get the scoop. And at the time, there really was no scoop. Miles is still, and always will be my favorite member of The Police

I would LOVE to see a Miles book.

I have read the memoirs of Stewart, Ian, and even their father Miles Jr. All three of the Copeland autobiographies are great.

A book by Miles III describing his facinating life would be awesome.

Ian's book on his role in the music business really makes me want to hear Miles experiences.

I have to say that I missed Miles on the Reunion Tour...not that I don't like what they have done, but for one reason or another, I felt I missed him...and of course Ian's as well as Kim's presence, but we all know that's for a different reason...and in their own way they WERE there anyway!

ditto on pleas for a book.

when i saw Animal Logic in 1989, aged 14, i was at hte front and had the pleasure of having a bellowing Miles feet away from me. I was nearly scared for life. i just remember thinking that he looked a bit like Andy Warhol!

I REALLY enjoyed Ian's book, a lot. But I still find all three of Miles Copeland Jr.'s books the most engrossing. And given the situation in Egypt and Syria these days, sobering, prescient even.

Here's my vote added to the "Write, Miles 3, write!" petition.
