HOT DAMN! (Pun intended.) That could be fun.

For anyone interested: Books 5 and 6 cover the Archangel Raphael relaying to Adam and Eve the story of Satan's revolt and the war in heaven. The text itself isn't as juicy as the devils on the burning lake in Books 1 and 2, but you've got all the big Biblical war stuff: madness, mayhem, death, destruction, swords, cannon, mountains as weapons, celestial trumpets, the Son of God rampaging on a chariot -- and I'd bet my money on DRUMS.

Thanks for the info, Con!

To Arms the matin Trumpet Sung!

"Though what if Earth
Be but the shaddow of Heav'n, and things therein
Each to other like, more then on earth is thought?"
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Hot damn indeed! This is crazy ambitious stuff. In his bio. in the DSO program from Gamelan D'Drum, Stewart listed one of his interests as Old Testament philology--basically the study of the OT as a literary text, particularly from a linguistic point of view. Paradise Lost seems to fit perfectly with this new passion of his.

(I understand that upon hearing this news, Sting began toiling on his first new pop song in a long time. It's a sad song about an absent-minded gambler entitled "Pair o' Dice Lost".)
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

Very interesting. I will add to the list of upcoming projects.

Stewart had mentioned, I think in Strange Things Happen, how he discovered that he and Gene Simmons (who was born in Isreal) were both very interested in studing the Old Testament.

Of course, Stewart's mother is a noted ancient Near East archaeologist:

FWIW, there's also a documentary by this same name about the West Memphis Three. WM3 are some teenage kids - wrongly, IMO - convicted of the murder of three children and imprisoned in Memphis back in 1993.

There are a few sequels to it, so I keep thinking that's what this is referring to - several recording artists, including Eddie Vedder, Johnny Depp, Ozzy Osbourne, et al, have done benefits for the WM3.

More info: www.wm3.org. There are new hearings scheduled soon regarding information that wasn't available in 1993, as DNA tests still cost a million dollars back then.

Don't panic, it's in the very early conceptual stages.

Just noticed on Grant Hart's (of Husker Du) wikipedia page that he is planning a CD based on Paradise Lost.

Sounds intriguing! Ya' know the Baltimore/Washington corridor has a *very* active cultural community.
I'm sure there are several venues that would be thrilled to host something like that.

I'm sure lots of East Coast Nutters would flock there.
(Besides, we know how to freakin' drive in snow (and have snow tires and road salt) so there'd be no cancelling of shows due to weather!! )
Stewart and Stanley together again!! YO!

I am reminded that I flunked my first English class, that included reading Paradise Lost, while at WM because I read the Cliff notes instead... There went my plans to major in English as well.
