Uh oh...BackstageCafe.com grabbed by 'Net squatters

Hey folks, looks like "Ask Uncle Ian" may have to relocate...BackstageCafe.com has been scoffed up by the vultures that grab URLs the minute the registration expires.

It usually costs big bucks to get one back, once it's gone. Here's hoping we get an update from Barbara or Chandra soon...

Hi There,
I placed a post about this under the heading Official Conformation.
I have spoken to Chandra's Husband, and he assures me all is well.

This precisely why i contacted Barrett, i would'nt want very old contributors thinking we had lost Ian's site for good!
It mean so much to us.

Hey Diane - I have contacted our guys that deal with the website and they are working to fix it. The site was stolen by hackers. No worries though as it should be up and running soon.

Take care.

Barrett

Hey Scrambled - do you have a Tribe account set up already? If you do, it's easy to sign up to the AUI tribe.

I need the Backstage.

Postby ItsAlright4U on 05 Mar 2007 02:08

I'm depressed enough about the payday tour, (sorry, I won't work for hours online or onphone to spend hundreds or more $$$ to fight past crowds of newbies to get to my shitty seat that cost way to much to have some asshole behind singing the wrong words at the top of his crap lungs) and even if I only have one or two people that even acknowledge my years at the Backstage board...I would miss it alot, it is a very special place for me. And I have Ian to thank for making me feel welcome from the first time I posted. It's a very cool feeling to have someone go from hero to friend...I miss him so much. love ya diane!

Yeah...it'd be nice if there were any way to put on a tour this size without fans' having to deal with Ticketmaster and Clear Channel...

Good to see you doug. Check in from time to time, would you?

I love you too Doug.

I know how you feel Doug, you have known him a very longtime, one of the first!
Doug, Ian loved you like a Bro.
I miss Backstage so much, i feel very angry this has happened, especially at this time of year.
You know, i had to swear to Ian i would be ok! But it's always easier said than done.

I hope Barrett can get the web guys sort the problem out, fast for us all!
I have also spoken to the Captain, at Backstage, he's on the case.

Regards Diane

PS.. I'm starting to recognize contributors new handles, boy! You lot, don't make it easy

What about this?

I don't think many use this on a regular basis, but can/will this take it's place if rebuying the site is cost prohibitive? I like the laying of the real AUI, but this will do for now I guess!

The Backstagecafeonline was a project by Ian, it has actually been online for some years now.
Ian, along with Digi sweatshop, produced a programme designed for fanclubs online, around the same time!
Backstagecafeonline.com used to be fun, when all the contributors used to chat in realtime in the chat room, although i could never get Ian to chat in there.
He used to say to me "Hey! i can't type that fast" LOL
They have some great Backstage items in the shop, although if you are intrested in purchasing any, it would be best to contact Backstage on there Myspace site.

BTW Michelle, did you place together the Ian Copeland Backstage page on Myspace?
If i you have , you've nicked one of my photographs, the one standing with his arabic t-shirt on!
I forgive you, if it was you :P
Although i own the copyright LMAO...

Nope, Diane, not me! Great photo though! I pretty much presumed it was a shootoff of the backstage myspace site. Yikes, now it is freaking me out a little bit, especially since his myspace page went up the day of the whisky and then the invite was there. (play twilight zone music here)
: )
