7/20/07 Staples Center Los Angeles??

TMJ4 in Milwaukee appears to have leaked a July 20, 2007 show at the Staples Center in downtown, Los Angeles... not sure what to think just yet, though I'm starting to get the shakes again...

How would you rate that venue on the Richter scale?

Only one problem with that date. I'll be sitting in HERSHEY, PA watching them that night!

Sorry!

Man, I hope so! I'm already doing Phoenix on the 18th and Dodger Stadium on the 23rd. That would be awesome to see them 3 times in the same week.

Seriously, but I guess they've probably read/enough stories of those of us wo were too young/were not allowed to see them the first time around, so there's no excuse not to see them on this tour, especially if this is our only chance to see them.

I'm not a huge fan of the Staples Center. Smack dab in downtown L.A., congestion and traffic aside, it's not a great venue. I saw Madonna there last summer and the sound was horrible. Plus, she doesn't like air conditioning on when she's performing so it was hotter than hell. I imagine The Police will have the air on, and if there was ever a band that could turn a crappy venue around and make a show work it would be them.

At least it's a bit more "intimate" (for lack of a better word) than Dodger Stadium.

Don't get me wrong - the Staples Center is a beautiful place, not old and dirty like the Forum. Perhaps I just saw the perfectly wrong show there. I'm sure The Police will make it rock!
