That was one gorgeous boy. He was lucky to have had you for his person.

I was on Twitter the night Yasi struck trying to pass on storm-survival tips we have here in the southern US...apparently I made the news in Melbourne! Had posted something on abc.com.au's page on FB to the effect that it breaks my heart to read about the flooding and misery in Qld. One of my favorite places on Earth. Hope to get back 'down Undah' soon - love it there, so much.

Hang in there. xo, Dive

Thanks everyone for your kind words and thoughts

Kimmy you made me cry (a good cry).....Itwoman sent me the poem (thanks for that)

Chester would have loved all of you guys, he loved people, being around people and probably lick you death!

he was amazing with the cats, always fretted over them when they were sick, gave up his seat and I try to tell him not to let them boss him around, he was bigger  He barked when they wanted out (the cat) and barked when came home However my new cat Bella, half Russian Blue can open the doors both side by leaping and pulling down the handle. Smarty puss! so she was letting him in and out and i did not have to keep going up and down those damn stairs as much 8) We have three set of stairs in our house. I have a lot of good memories of the boy.

Jan, I know how you feel....I always lived and keep on living with dogs.
I saw them dying all of them, around 13/15 years old, that's their time more or less.
The dog I have now is almost 14 years old, has big problems for a cancer, but he's still jumping and doing whatever he likes; every now and then he has little crisis, last August had a painful day...I was almost leaving him in the hospital, but we brought him home anyway, and after that he 'started living' again...they said he would have lived 3 or 4 month...and we're in February....I know it may happen every day...
Very sorry for your dog but now he's with many other dogs running anywhere he likes...
