Safe from the Sun 2011...any interest in a team?

I posted about this on Facebook and got pretty close to radio silence in response...just wondered if anyone was interested in participating this year since a team for 2010 never really gelled? I'd be happy to head up registering a team if no one else is going to...I was even considering registering for the 5k run this year, myself.

I have a couple close friends/extended family members battling with various forms of cancer right now, and even if not directly related to melanoma it makes me want to do SOMETHING to help out.

I can't join the team as I live too far away and I'm still too gimpy to run/walk such distances. However, I'd be happy to pledge money to any of you who participate.

As I mentioned over on FB, I'm going to try, but sadly my schedule this semester is against me, so I'm not feeling optimistic about being able to get there this year. Will be supporting from afar though, of course.

You can count Toni and I in to walk if you're going to register the team. I'm now going on 2 or 3 years melanoma cancer-free... I think that's how long it is... time just keeps flying by... anyway life is good and this is a great cause.

Sorry I have been out of touch on this...I'll have to look into team registration next week.

Vespa just lost his mom to cancer this past Sunday, so it's been a very hectic and sad time around these parts of late. But it makes me more determined than ever to take part in some fundraising in honor of those whom we have lost.
