So sorry to have missed it.

I listened to the coughing on the ipod during the morning dog walk. It is great and unlike anything I else. Yes, it sounds like Stewart but in a new combo of sounds. The last movement starting around minute 23 is especially good to me in the first listening.

As everyone else has said, the music was fantastic. Definitely hope to see this touring. And the Dallas Symphony was just lovely. From my seat I also had a good view of Stewart on the balcony.

Now for the other highlights of the evening:
When we arrived at the Meyerson, we discovered that there was a lecture before the performance. We walked in a bit late and were immediately noticed by both Fiona on the front row and The Maestro himself on the stage. When they asked if there were any questions from the audience, he pointedly swiveled his head around and looked directly at us, much to our amusement.Then as he was getting up to leave the stage, we got The Point. He then proceeded to walk out of the room with his microphone still on.

After the performance, we went to the Green Room, where there was supposed to be coffee. We figured coffee, Stewart, duh, but he had just left the room by the time we all got there. We made some inquiries and found that he was headed to the lobby, so we hightailed it there to the table where he was signing and greeting. Meg nudged me to the front and introduced me to Stewart, who smiled, shook my hand, and said "Nice to meet you!" He signed my program and I took a couple of quick pics. He spent quite a while talking to us, and I got to see firsthand how much Stewart loves his Nutters. He is awesome.

So in one night I experienced my first Stewart performance, first point, and first time meeting him. I was floating on air for the rest of the night. This trip was most definitely worth all the trouble.

Nice one Conroy. I guess someone couldn't control their hand clapping during certain sections in the last movement! Understandable with all that rhythmic propulsion going on. LOL

It was probably foot tapping (most likely mine) since the voice recorder was on the floor under the seat and out of sight and I remember I couldn't keep my foot still during the third movement. I thought the Mendelssohn piece was a perfect compliment to the Gamelan piece because it also moved through a gamut (almost said Gamelan) of emotions like the Gamelan piece did.

In the Mendelssohn piece the violins sounded like they were sailing on glass. It was gorgeous.

There's no two ways about it. Sir Conroy is definitely the Knight of Knight's Inn. First, he spent the better part of the week coming to the aid of four damsels in Dallas-styled distress. Then, he *cough***cough**...he...*cough*...sorry, I can't **cough** get the words out, but you *cough* all know what I mean. Thanks, conroy! You're the best!

I'm finally home, after 11 hours in the car sitting on a bruised butt (apparently I can drive on ice but not walk on it). Conroy, Meg, Rosemary, Amy: THANK YOU for making my first Nutter experience so much fun, even in a freaking blizzard. And big big thanks to Stewart and D'Drum for putting on a wonderful show and making it all possible!

I'm glad you got home safe, Gina. Thanks a million for driving us around so expertly in those ridiculous conditions. Your Ontario driver's licence is in the mail. Hell, you could probably get a job as a driving instructor up here now.

On the risk of exposing some state secret, what's up with the "cough"? I'm on dialup so I can't download the "megaupload" (I may try it at work this week, however). I am making assumptions (Conroy is coughing into his secret weapon during the performance?) or something to do with the "secret" nature of the said weapon. I am hot?

I'm glad everyone is arriving safely to their home ports. Thank you all for the exciting play by play this week. It made the Super Bowl oh, so ho-hum.
