Palladia

Anyone else heard of this network? It's an MTV affiliate. They play long form videos - concerts, documentaries, festivals. The other day I watched highlights from Isle of Weight 2008 - our boys were there! Right now I'm watching Hard Rock Calling from 2008 - our boys again! Yesterday I watched the 80's Rewind Festival featuring the Beat performing Mirror in the Bathroom. Needless to say I'm HOOKED on this channel, lol! I've also seen Isle of Weight 2010 with Florence & the Machine. I'm liking them. :-)

OMG I just saw some familiar faces from this forum in the crowd at HRC, lol! Green Flag in the house!

hard rock calling was particularly good..... i seem to recall something about a flag and the fact that the flagbearer acted with aplomb........

Dang - wish we had that channel here. Nice you got to see some familiar phizogs in the crowd Kim. HRC was good. The sun setting over the last UK gig was magical, and it was a real joy to share it with a big bunch of lovely folk from here. After a day of mostly indifferent (or downright awful) music, the The Police sounded better than ever :-) I sincerely hope it didn't make the HRC highlights, but can anyone recall the name of the faux-Hendrix guy who tortured us for 45 minutes or so?

(According to Websters aplomb is defined as "complete and confident composure or self-assurance". 'Composure' smax? )

Was this the band? We arrived half way through the set so didn't have to endure them for that long!

Off topic of Hard Rock, which I'll agree was awesome...

Lately Palladia's been showing "Ladies & Gentlemen the Rolling Stones"...which RAWKS. The 'Exile' tour would definitely be one I'd catch in the time machine, given the op'py.

We've been tuning into this channel more and more often.

Heads up... They have Grammy weekend planned as a lead in to the Grammys on Sunday, featuring shows from many of the nominees.

Right now I'm watching a ZZ Top Story Tellers. I saw them open for Aerosmith a couple years ago. THUNK.

Tomorrow they are premiering a documentary about Lemmy from Motorhead. I saw James Hetfield and Dave Grohl in the commercial.... That's about all I need - I'm sold!

There was something else good planned for the weekend. Gah...can't remember what. I'll pop back in and post if it dawns on me.

Yeah, the Lemmy documentary was a winner. He's certainly an interesting character.

You did see the new Foos video, right? (White Limo. You'll die.)

More good stuff on Palladia...They've been showing a lot of newer artists. I'd been on the fence about buying Katy Perry tickets and took in a concert video this week...I'm still not her #1 fan, but if I can go cheap, I'll probably check it out. Palladia's fast becoming my go-to channel when there's nothing else I gotta watch.
