It's snowing in Nashville (again, really unusual). First White Christmas in 17 years, apparently. We're supposed to get a couple of inches. :D

It's been snowing off and on here today. No accumulation yet, but this is only the second time I've seen snow on Christmas in my life, so I'm happy.

Same here! I hope it holds on long enough for another day off on Monday! A nice Christmas present, indeed!

We are up to between 8-10 inches (snow, smax) right now and I am fearful I will lose power. Worry, worry, fret, fret. The downside of a big winter storm. I can't recall a storm this big for us here... maybe in '96. Unreal.

We were supposed to be celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday today, picking up the food and cake on the way. Needless to say that got nixed.

I hope everyone is safe and warm and dry and cuddled up with the ones you love!

Well, I guess our not getting tons of snow makes up for the tornadoes (although I know some areas - the Midwest, D.C., NYC) get both. We had about an inch and a half, off and on...just enough to be pretty but not enough to screw up travel in grand fashion.

Crossing fingers for everyone in the path of what's shaping up to be a pretty bad winter storm hitting the eastern U.S. (and hoping Santa sent shovels for the UKers.)

The snow's pretty much gone on the Island, for now anyway.

Water pipes bursting in the thaw.

7.30 this morning was brilliant sunshine. I went out with the dogs wearing sunglasses (me, not the dogs). It was -7 and a very heavy frost but absolutley beautiful out. Also totally still and quiet, no-one else about. I felt like the only person in the world.

Strange weather we're all having.

Stay safe and warm all of the US nutters who I think are having a tough time.

Wear big socks over the top of your boots if you go out. Stops you slipping up on your bum!

It's hard to believe it will be in the 50's here in DC by the end of the week. Maybe the worst is almost behind us now.

It seems that everyone else is getting pounded by snow, Denver is still bright and sunny. So sunny, in fact, that we're having moderate drought conditions.

The mountains have lots of snow though, so you can still come here and ski.

Wow! It looks like the Eastern Seaboard is in for another crazy winter! Meanwhile, here in Toronto, there's virtually no snow. We had just enough to cover the grass, giving us a technically white Christmas, but most of it's gone now. In fact, I was able to wear running shoes downtown today with no worries. I wouldn't have tried that if I lived just a little South-East of here though.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

Snowing in Vegas. It snows in the suburbs every few years but its damn rare for it to snow downtown.

The weather is getting weirder with each passing year. What? No global warming?

There's a winter storm warning in effect here. It's sleeting right now, but supposed to snow 3-6 inches tonight and tomorrow. I hope it snows just enough to miss work and not enough for the power to go out!

I'm rooting for you, L_V!!! We're supposed to get squat, just enough to not do anything significant (but I hope I am wrong and that I am checking with you from the comforts of my living room tomorrow!) Keep in touch.

And did you hear on the news that the magnetic North Pole is moving towards Russia at a rate of about 40 miles (I think I have that right) per year? Say what???
