Stewart's new short opera of Poe's Tell Tale Hart

I added this to the knowing upcoming projects after DM noted it but thought it should get its own thread.

Accroding the Stewart's music publisher, G. Sshirmer, Stewart's short opera of Poe's Tell Tale Heart will be premeired on April 8, 2011 at the Royal Opera House in London as part of the opera houses "operashots" program.

The Royal Opera House's website describes its "Operashort" program as

Another of the composers doing a short opera for the Royal Opera House is Terry Jones of Monty Python, according to:

Agreed!

And Poe moved around ALOT in his short life so the opera needs to come to his other homes also, such as the Poe Museum in Richmond, Virginia (where he grew up), the Poe National Historic Site in Philly (where he lived for a bit), and the Poe Cottage in Bronx, New York (where he lived at the end before his death in Baltimore).

Got some more info on this.

While the opera is premiering on April 8, it is also being performed several other days, the 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 15th, and 16th.

From another site, we learn that the performance has 5 singers annd 6 musicians. Stewart, unlike Holy Blood and Cresent Moon, did the libretto (lyrics) for this opera.

Are you planning on going?

I'm 99.9 percent sure. I'm expecting a decent tax refund next year since I'm getting a clean fuel credit for the diesel I bought earlier this year. And I'm waiting for confirmation on the dates and being able to purchase tickets to the shows before booking my flights and hotels.
