1977 poster and single

1977 poster and single

Postby Dietmar on 11 Oct 2010 20:57

I just received some very nice The Police items from 1977.

http://www.policefans.org/Police_wiki/i ... 1977-10-16

shows a poster of their concert with The Damned. The Police are not even mentioned on the poster. They originally wanted to tour the Netherlands with Wayne County & The Electric Chairs, but there were no concerts booked at all. So The Damned let them play out of pity...

After the short Police set Sting himself sold Fall Out singles.
The single shown here has a glossy sleeve, quite different to the lots made out of another kind of paper that I've seen so far.

Cool! Thanks for the link, Dietmar, 'cause I don't regularly look in on the wiki.

excellent stuff. thanks fer sharing.

how do you know the provenance?
did you get the stuff from someone who bought the single from the young sweaty gordo his/herself after the show?

and, looking on other bits of the wiki, i did not know that the police's first appearance was in Wales!! random. a journey of a few hours from london... and not just at the 'bull and gate' or 'hope and anchor' or any of the other hundreds of venues in london where getting a gig woulda been easy....

I was wondering that, too.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.
