Oh, my!! I have been sitting on this jewel for damn near a month now.. am so jonesing to hear it!!! The music snippets on this go-round were just icing on the cake!! When I made an audio rip of my copy of the Rhythmatist movie, I just included the whole damn thing (as opposed to trying to section off the music). I figured, it's mostly Stewart talking, so by definition it fits my listening criteria on some level or another. Shitty quality be damned!!

"There was one tribe who had a legend. And the legend was this great big ROCK."

STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN is going to be a monumental experience, but I will embrace first as written literature, and THEN as an audiobook. And my first read will be the softcover, which is shortly to be released!! The hardcover I will likely pick up down the road..

The musical crests will only be topped by the storytelling crescendoes!! I can't wait!!!

Wow,jedsoon! You're really hard core when it comes to your literary experiences. After reading your post, I think I need a cigarette.

The soft cover copy of STH came out in the States on Sept. 7. It's for sale on both the amazon and Barnes and Nobles sites. I imagine it can also be purchased directly from a fine book store near you. Go forth and read, my son.

I finally listened to the audio version and loved it.

I read the book last year and was surprised how many detials, especially in the first half, that I had forgotten since reading it.

I also really enjoyed the music tidbits between tracks. Many came from the SC Anthology but some were from other sources, including unreleased songs.

As as has been suggested, I woud love the musci soundtrack from the audiobook.

Well I finally listened to it all, in bits and pieces, when I had quiet moments to myself, which are rare, lol.

Great job Stewart! It sounded like you enjoyed reading it. Of course I read it before, but listening to it was a lot more entertaining. :-)

My husband shook his head and muttered something to me about "sinking to a new low", lol, one time when he walked in on me.

I'm reading the book, but reading these descriptions, I think I need the audio too.

OOOpppsss....if you come down to Italy, don't use this expression very frequently...eheheheh! (even if it's not that difficult to listen to it quite often from many mouths)

Update: Over the weekend, when he was cooking and made a mistake, I heard my husband utter those curse words in English!! He is 2nd generation Italian so must have heard it from his mom. I laughed so hard, partly because it really does just sound funny even though it doesn't make sense, and also because of that passage in the book and this thread. He thought it was funny too.

My wife surprised me with it a couple of months ago. I cannot believe the man still has a voice - what a job that must have been!

I listened again to the audiobook while the forum was down, and loved it the second time.

Stewart's voice is great for it, and I LOVE the Stewart music that is part of the audiobook.

Highly reocmmended for a first, second, or more listen.
