Good find, bella. Based on the photography presentation Andy gave in Toronto in '09, I highly recommend this to anyone in the DC area. Andy's views and ideas are very interesting even if you are not all that much into photography.
I see in the link that Danny Clinch is also giving a talk in this series on November 10. That one would be well worth attending, too. He was the photographer for much of The Police's reunion tour, and his work is featured on the Certifiable CD/DVD. I saw and heard Danny talk when he took part in the same photography symposium as Andy. I spoke with him a little after the presentation. He seemed to be a warm and approachable guy with a lot of great stories to tell.

I think I can do this one!! Oo-oo, to set to hear AndyS IN THE FLESH, talk about his book and pics!!!!
Thnx for this post, Bella. And especially for such a good lead time-this way I can probaly work something out. It only takes abt. 2hrs. to get up to DC from Mom and Dad's-and even 30 mins. less to outer Metro (well, it used to 20 yrs. ago-traffic probaly much worse now!)
Thnx again-am going to do best to get to this-maybe bring my Andy admiring boyfriend along too!

I'm in! DC's just down the road a piece.

Perhaps we can meet up before (or after) and have a little Nutter holiday fete in DC this year!

Ooooh! And Dec. 4 is on a Saturday. I feel myself being drawn to the siren call of an overnight bus trip. Or perhaps it's a more modern day siren on an ambulance ready to take me to a mental health facility that will erase this crazy idea from my head. Still, if enough folks are planning to meet, I might just be enticed across the border. Plus, I do enjoy hearing Andy talk all pretty about his pretty pictures.

Probably can't make it as it's the weekend before vespa and I will be throwing (at last) our long-delayed housewarming party, so I'm sure I'll be madly making preparations for that (and/or working a holiday craft show, as 'tis the season.)

Please provide full reports, those who go! Sounds like it should be a great event.

PS: If anyone who'd be interested didn't get an email or Facebook invite from us for our housewarming get-together Dec 11-12, please let me know. I wasn't sure who all might be up for it and interested, but don't want anyone to feel left out. It is open to all of our friends and family, near and far, nutters and not.

My ticket arrived in the mail on Saturday. Can't wait.

BTW, low cost carrier Southwest begins service to National Airport (closest to downtown DC) soon thanks to today's merger announcement with Airtran: http://www.bizjournals.com/washington/s ... Journal%29

Just bought my ticket for Andy. The Danny Clinch and Neko Case shows both look good but I gotta cut down on extra spending. Andy and Stewart would be, of course, an exception. :-)
