He was a frequent guest on Howard Stern's show and also had a connection with SC in that they both appeared as panelists on an episode of VH-1's the List that aired in the late 90's (I believe) about the top videos of the 80's.

Man, this guy was a great comic. He'll surely be missed. I read up on him and he's had a rough life, health-wise. I had the privilege of being on an elevator with him as he was heading down to his gig at the Monte Carlo in Vegas 3 years ago--I was doing a gig with a band at the hotel and he did a short stint there one weekend. He was very kind to me and was cracking jokes during the ride down. A lot of great comics have left us too soon.

I drive by the Improv on Melrose in Hollywood every night on the way home. His name was up on the Marquee tonight and it looked like there was going to be a memorial for him, I saw some people lined up, and some people dressed in black going in.
Nice to see his peers will be remembering him.
