^

i was going to correct you Eq, by saying that Gary is their new drummer... but then realised that Gary's been playing with them for over 20 years and so probably wouldn't like to be called a new drummer.......

i saw quite a few drum clinics that he did in the past with a crazy level 42 fan, gary was always welcoming and friendly, great chops too.

Wow, the thread lives!

Gary is indeed an amazing drummer, quite Copeland like in his power if you ever see him live. Also a very nice guy. He's not on board this year. They have a new drummer named Pete Ray Biggin. I think he's closer to original drummer Phil Gould than Gary...actually, in my limited hearing, he's quite similar to a guy by the name of Gavin Harrison. I like what I hear so far. I think he's only 30 years old, ironic in the band is celebrating its 30th anniversary with this tour :-)

Very much looking forward to these shows. Hopefully they can get some decent crowds.

Honestly, it was just amazing. I did the first three shows of this first US tour in 23 years: Annapolis, DC and NYC. All shows were pretty much full to capacity, the crowds were very enthsuiastic. The band is in top form and you won't find a nicer bunch of dudes. Very accomodating to their fans. Got lots of pre-show, post-show and in-show pics and videos from all three.

Sounds like they're ready to plan a next tour for next year already, tha'ts how well things have been going. It was just a dream come true for me this past week. Anyone out on the west coast still has a chance to see them this week!

I saw Gary Husband as drummer for the Andy Summers Trio back in 1996 I think.

Yay Bob!

I'm so pleased you had such a great time and I'm more than a little bit envious.

I bet the band are enjoying it as much as the audiences. I'd read that they really wanted to tour in America.

Do post a picture or two if you can.

Thanks for the report and I hope you get to see them again next year.
