Hi Laura

It is a bit quiet isn't it?

Maybe everyone's off on their hols at the moment.

I've got the last week in August off. I'm going to paint the outside of my house (it's titchy so it only takes a day and a half to paint) then I'm going to lay on the beach, read books, listen to music and chill. Then I'm going to have a massive bar-be-que for all the friends and neighbours. Then I'm going to have a hangover.

Can't wait.

What about you?

Probably everyone is holding up somewhere where it's cool. And using all the electric for AC and not computer power.

I'm taking the last two weeks in July off (if the pregnant babe doesn't go into labor early. I do not mean to offend the mothers out there, but sometimes those of us sans children get the screwing when it comes to subbing for those of us who do. But I'm writing a story and mama is not do until August 11th).

I plan to nap more (meow), ride my bike more, eat more (raise that cholesterol! Go, girl! Blood work is another 6 months off), read more, play my guitar and drums more. Maybe not in that order, but as I write it that way it probably says more likely in that order. Oh well. I will also drive to THE BIG CITY (one hour west) and shop at the likes of Sam Ash and Guitar Center, because I can. And maybe even do a little tourist thing around Williamsburg. All those things that I can't do when I am on w-o-r-k-i-n-g-. Which at this moment I am still doing because, God bless, I am still "gainfully employed".

my two week vacation is almost over

I stayed at home, made occasional trips to concerts / museums / shopping malls - but also worked on the Police wiki and watched the German games during the football world championship

I didn't expect them to get so far, so it's too bad that the last two games will take place during my nightshift
I hope I can see those ...

if you're looking for some good weather - it's all in Germany - tooo hot !!

Nothing different than the rest of the year...my new record is coming out in September and I'm now working on planning the promotion, beyond all of the other stuff to take care when you release a record...I think I will release it on my own label, I already have a distribution (being my job) and paid an external office for promotion.
Probably I will spend most of August working on it

WOW amazing GIO !

I just came back from a few days in Elora Ontario (Canada). So peaceful. Stayed in an Old Mill built in 1859, shot some cool video footage for the next cheapo video I do.

Happy summertime.

Lots of black bear sightings in North Vancouver this year, policefan.

Our granddaughter is coming to stay with us for a couple of weeks...can't hardly wait!
We're going to Waterton National Park in southwestern Alberta at the beginning of August.
Have a great summer Nutters!

i don't even have internet except via my phone until Friday, hence my radio silence.

I saw a black bear (4 actually) in the Smokies 3 weeks ago while at a family reunion (hardlly qualifies as a vacation). It will be something I remember my entire life!

There was a bear attack in Kentucky lately, which is somewhat unheard-of. Unfortunately they're now trying to find the bear so they can kill it. Not sure what I think of that policy, since stupid tourists often try to hand-feed them in the Smokies.

[on football] My thoughts entirely though I'm very careful where I say it out loud.

You know, it's a little different being a footy fan here in the U.S., where it's not such a big deal. You're actually considered a little bit of a renegade. Or a pinko leftist, if you believe the Glenn Beck crowd (apparently anything not USA-centric is suspect these days.) Some folks hereabouts hope for a higher profile on "soccer," as we call it, but I'd bet my boots the NFL owners are paying big bucks to see that doesn't happen.

Just got back from Chincoteague, VA which is a way awesome beachfront community and a national wildlife preserve. Saw some cool critters (our first loon!), ate a slew of seafood, did some hanging out on the beach with some good friends. Luckily no tarballs. It was nice to see seabirds not coated in glop, since there are so many photos of them in the news these days.
