He describes the reunion as “a mistake psychologically”

Are you really surprised? I'm sure it sounded like a good idea at first but after a while they must have gotten into the same old rut that made them quit the first time. I am surprised that he was dumb enough to say it though. You'd think at this point he could keep his trap shut for the fans' sake. We all liked it and they made a boatload of cash. Win / Win I'd say. We all hate our jobs! Suck it up and get over it already!

And that stuff about nostalgia is crap. He knows the rest of us like it and will pay for it. He keeps recycling his stuff, from Demolition Man to I Burn For You, and the Symphonicity thing is the biggest recycling BS ever. It's official, he's lost the spark. It must be tough for him. Boo Hoo. I think I paid for a wing of Lake House myself.

Boy did that article play to Gordo or what? I really doubt that the Police reunion came as a surprise to Dominic. Plus, I'm sure he had plenty of money squired away to do his own thing for a couple of years. Seriously, can you only play with Sting your whole career?

Exactly what Sting said before... Can't Miller think by himself? But maybe the journalist just transformed the interview.

I'm surprised that almost 2 years after the end of Tourzilla, Sting - or anyone else speaking in his name - is still criticizing The Police reunion. It seems he didn't achieve at all what he wanted to with Stewart and Andy...

Thanks for the article, EQ.

?? That's not what I remember hearing about that gig. At all.

Thanks for the link, tho, EQ.

Thanks, EQ!

Meg and I were at that gig. Empty seats, definitely true. I took pix of the empty seats, 'cause there was this whole high roller section right in front that cleared out early. The security guys were giving me hairy eyeballs for taking pix.

As far as whether or not the boys were pretendning to enjoy each other's company? WHo knows.

Hmmm.......hate to keep beating the Sting dead horse......to my ears this Miller sounds as tho' a little of the Gordo sour grapes world view has rubbed off on him! Pro baly a blessing that Stewrt and Andy DIDN'T end up spending more time w/ Sting after all   because I read no hint of sourness in either of their books or in any of their interviews. Well, this Miller has got his bread n butter gig back now-altho' I won't be contributingg any $$ to it  !

Listening to Sacred Love was a mistake psychologically to me.

Furthermore, I was also both Tourzilla shows in Vegas. Though both shows were very good, the second show was better than the first (a great Bring on the Night to open the show). I'll admit, though, that the second Vegas show was not as good as other shows by them during that same time period. It seemed like STEWART was a little tired. At the time, I suspected it was because STEWART was down because the show was on the anniversary of Ian's passing. However, after reading STEWART's book, I suspect it was actually because STEWART was just coming back from a graduation.

(My ears are still recovering from the constant screaming - "STEWWWWWWWWWWARRRTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!")

Sting is full of bullshit. The king of pain in the ass.

He hates the most sucessfull force(The Police) and event(Tourzilla) of his life.

He never dreamed about the reunion, never learned spiritual lessons, but he did won gazillions of dollars.

I was in Rio, their force as a band is unmatched. He's incredibly talented and professional. They were this close from musical magic but his over controlled performances interrupted the wild flow. Free your spirit Sting, you have Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland with you. And forget about a whole gig with click track dullness. Let it run wild!

This is when i sorta' wish this site had a "like" button.....I try to be fair to Sting, but am with you on this, Pablito!

OT: Maybe that's why the Rush documentary was such a breath of fresh air, a powerful rock trio that expresses its like and dislikes, but the bond between the three ALWAYS shines thru.

Seems a bit much to start a thread for this link, but I have to put it somewhere, so a semi-related sidebar: "Sting's 4 Douchiest Moments, And How He Made Up For Them": http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/201 ... ts_and.php
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Thanks DM,
Love this:

• That's not his only lyrical crime, by far. Although sometimes tolerable, his lyrics tend to be heavy-handed to the point of embarrassment, even when they aren't name-dropping famous writers of yore. It's fine when a song cleverly alludes to literary tropes or characters. It's not fine when a song slaps you about the face with them, yelling "Hey! Check out all this smart shit I know! Look! Look!" You know, like in that book by Nabokov.

"Problem is this band has too many balls, not too few.
Sting's problem is that the real balls aren't his." Pluto

Balls always come in pairs

"The Police brand will always be bigger than the Sting brand"
because I think it goes back to the chemistry of the 3 players. Sting writes great songs/music but it takes Stewart & Andy to twist his balls a bit to get the best bits.
I think the codling he gets in his solo stance is too free, its like a writer without an editor.
