OT: Hot Head Show in the U.S.!!!

Philly show: awesomeness! If I weren't facing a giant change fee from our frackin' airline I might consider joining you for that one.

DM, any chance of postshow hangout? I'll have a car, so can drive the bus for folks needing a connect to local surface transit and whatnot. I think we're staying in Harrison, NJ that night (doing a different hotel every night to rack up a bunch of Hilton stays for their free night promo. Don't ask.)

I'll bet we can figure something out. Con, you know of any diners in that area? I know the 'Cats will want to avoid the Italian joint. ;)

I pricelined the Sheraton near the Meadowlands. I haven't had a chance to think about food yet!

Can't wait since I haven't seen some of the nutters coming to this show since the Christmas party. Wooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

Actually sockii, they added TWO Philly shows. According to the HHS site they're playing in Philly on June 16, too, at the Trocadero Balcony. Maybe you already knew about that one, but I don't recall you squeeing about it here.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

OMG WUT.

I love the Troc and the Balcony is SUCH a great intimate room there...!!!!

I am totally fucking there and I think I may just blow off AC now. I'd way rather see them locally at a venue like that, especially as it's CHEAP and close to home.

Hmm, there's still some dates between Bonnaroo and New Hope, PA where they could be on the road, perhaps passing through DC (hint, hint). There's a couple of really cool places in DC that have the perfect intimate vibe. One is called DC9 and the other is the Rock and Roll Hotel. One of my favorite Fiction Plane performances was at DC9.

Sheeeeiiiiit. I don't know what to do now. I'm leaning towards the June 5th show in Montclair.
New Hope is closer, but it's a Tuesday.
It would be nice if they hit someplace in DC. I'd meet you there Con!

Thanks for the offer, darling. No worries: I'll have my car. And I'll definitely see you guys pre or post or both. Just not sure how that day will shake out yet, so timing is up in the air. Will let you know once I know.

If anyone's thinking about going to the Kung Fu Necktie or Trocadero shows, please give a holler.

Also, did anyone else decide to go to AC Sunday night?

No AC for me, sock.

FYI, Montclair folks: something I'd forgotten but the theater website reminded me of: There is no NJ Transit train Service to Montclair on weekends. The NJ Transit and DeCamp busses probably run on weekends (you'll have to check), but in case you were relying on the Montclair train, be aware that it doesn't run on weekends. If you're traveling w/o a car, you'll need a cab or to schedule a ride with someone.

My apologies that I can't be around to assist in that regard.

ETA: Theater websites says NJ Transit busses are a go: http://www.wellmonttheatre.com/directions but double-check with bus services to be sure.

ETA again: Or all of this above could be wrong^. See Conroy's post below.

Can't do AC, either. Have fun, though.

Thanks for the travel update, Kel. I'm going to drive. Figured it was the easiest.

Are you sure the Wellmont is right about the train, Kel? I went into the NJ transit trip planner site and was able to bring up weekend itineraries to Bay St station, which I think is near the Wellmont Theater, from Seacucus Junction with a train transfer at Newark.

Here's what it gave me to Bay Street:

Origin Station : Secaucus Junction
Date of Travel : 06/05/2010 Destination Station : Bay Street

Ooh, that looks promising, Con. Maybe Montclair finally did get weekend service. I honestly don't know: I live about 30 minutes away and have never used their trains.

This is what the theater's page says:
By Train
By train from Manhattan:
From 34th Street Penn Station, take New Jersey Transit's Midtown Direct train on the Montclair-Boonton line (Weekdays only.) to either Bay Street or Walnut Street station.
Click here for schedule: http://www.njtransit.com/sf/sf_servlet. ... chedulesTo
Note: There is no NJ Transit train Service to Montclair on weekends.

From the Bay Street station, walk west to Bloomfield Avenue and turn right. The Wellmont Theatre is about 6 blocks north on the left hand side.

From the Walnut Street station, walk west to N Willow Street. Walk along N Willow Street until you reach Bloomfield Ave. Turn right on Bloomfield Avenue. The Wellmont Theatre should be one block north on the left.
but it's entirely possible they've got old info. I'd suggest giving them and NJ Transit a call just to be safe, but that's certainly got potential.
