More peaceful than festive. I could get used to that.

Thanks again, folks.

Just wanted to report that the UK had temporarily recovered from The Great Moeskido-Birthday Taco Shortage of 2008. However, I stuffed myself silly on them yesterday, and my mom ate all the others that we could get hold of with our legitimate ration books, and not-so-legitimate trading in dodgy chocolate and silk stockings. So yet again, we're probably going to have to make do with fajitas for a while.

(A brazen bump for the thread, lest we let a month pass without irritating the dear man. Happy Birthday sir.)

Hardly irritating, ms. smudge.
Perplexing? Yeah.

lion, it seems my birthday is all days to all people. So you really didn't miss anything. Not that there was anything to miss. And thank you.

Is it just me, or is Moeskido's birthday a bit underwhelming this year?

Good point Schmaff. With a cleverly organized concerted effort it can for sure be made "overwhelming" for another year. If it worked for the flag, it can work for its master craftsman.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOE!

A bit short on "whelm" these days. But thanks for the thoughts.

Moeskido, smudge has introduced me to a real history lesson here on the sc.net website, and I thought DMs surgery thread had set a record! So I couldn't resist wishing a very belated Happy Birthday to a fellow Cancer. How could I ever mistake you for a Libra (we are still in Libra, aren't we smudge?)

Funny you should say such a thing.

It was only a week ago that DM and a cross-section of colluding conspirators from several sectors of my little life perpetrated a scam upon me, two months before the fact. It was brain-fryingly enormous.

In attendance, among the familiar faces from the past three decades, were MY FAVORITE BAND UPON THE PLANET (http://microscopicseptet.com/).

Sorry, Stewart.

I'm still buzzing. Maybe 50 won't suck quite as much as I'd feared.

Thank you, Conroy. But guys my age generally don't want to hear the word "premature" in almost any context.

I blame the cadre of saxophones.

Surprise 50th birthday party-gig 2 months early featuring 7 musicians with 4 saxophones slammed together in 3 weeks: numbers may not be my strong point, but I'd say we didn't do too shabby. Also, nancyrose fucking rocks.

Happy eventual Birthday, kid.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Thanks again, DM. Praise nancyrose with great praise.

Bongo, glad you like them. I believe their own site has a few downloadable samples, but until I excerpt a bit of video from that day to post on Flickr, you can also find good stuff by these boys on Youtube. Look for "Second Avenue" and "Lobster in the Limelight."
