EL, love you and to each his own. My other Sting girl buddy (i know you go both ways) is living it up in nYC right now. She's having a blast. And I am happy for her.

Really, if you like it, enjoy it. I don't like a lot of what he does. But there are a few solo things I have, errrm appreciated.

I was thinking about this yesterday. I am actually not mad at Sting for the Police breaking up in the 80s. Synchronicity was my least favorite album. SOME good stuff, but thematically? well, a lot of it was starting to jump the shark for me. And then the solo work.

so, I am glad for what we had. glad he went off and made mediocre music of his own instead of drove the band there and into despair, and grateful we got another time around.

no symphonicity for me tho- but I love my lady friends who think every little thing he does is magic too.

but i do also love "regatta de wank"

hell yeah, EL you (and others) love it... and "englishman in new york" and other solo stuffi i could like..... but "next to you?!?!?!? this was just an effort for a lively, humerous thread, i wouldnt want any out and out gordo fans to get upset, but it's just to easy to poke fun at the title of the album..... pissage in a bottle, anyone?

Don't worry, E-L. You know I've always got your back!

I am going to see his show on July 11th. Has anyone ever heard the orchestration of Split Enz music? That was amazing. I love to hear old songs in new ways, so this is exciting for me. But, I do take notice of Next To You being orchestrated as a negative. I was already upset with his reunion version of such a rocking song. Could that chorus have been butchered any more? Hated it. So, really, that's not one I want to hear in an orchestral arrangement. But, we shall see. I haven't listened to anything online, so it will be a completely fresh listen for me.

okay, back to your name calling. :P

Ahah, these are all funny!
The thing is that when you talk a lot about something, it's already a success...

Anyway, I was listening to the four songs on the NBC site, and I have to say that 'Next to You' is not too bad, 'Englishman in NY' is exactly the same as the original (I guess they even used the same beat loop in the middle of the song) and 'Every Little...' is a bit boring...I wouldn't have choose that song.

I wonder if thinkgeek.com could make this shirt with sound activated LED lights and fart sound effects.
Then I might consider going to a Symphonicity show.
