Apparently, the photo and article are excerpts of a larger piece that is in this month's Zoomer magazine.
I'm afraid of more scary Sting shots.

Ha, ha... I’ve never noticed this magazine until today. I grabbed it quickly while waiting in the line to the cash register. The picture were Sting is lying down with his stomach showing a bit and wearing leather pants (they actually looked like leather and not plastic ...lol ) was fairly pleasant.

Don’t mind if Bryan is taking those pictures. :P :P[/quote]

I did exactly the same thing when I was in line at the drug store this evening. In my opinion, the picture of Sting sitting on the couch is the best. But all the other shots gave me the shivers. He's trying to look old (okay, "mature"), serious and sexy all at the same time. To me, he just ends up looking grumpy and impoverished. After feasting my eyes on all of those lovely photos in visions' thread, these ones just leave me feeling kind of sad.
I tried to skim through the article to the part about the reunion tour. From what I managed to read, Stewart wasn't mentioned by name, but Sting said that the tour felt like re-entering a dysfunctional marriage.

My boyfriend(BC), who is a balanced Police fan and less the rabid Copeland fan like me-self , have actually discussed the dysfunction aspect of the Reunion etc.... And both of us opine the Dys-function is a Function of what the Lead Singer brought into the mix. Andy and Stewart, thru both of their books and the performances BC & I saw, seemed to be doing this for the music (and of course the $$, lets be real). I am the last person to get into mr. Sting's id, but we have had the impression that Sting's was only at least partially abt. music, lot's of other complicated stuff going on there.....
Sting IS the voice of the Police, so I'll always give credit even if am being sour on him about it!

AM still going to give this disc a shot when it comes back to the Libr. br. I work at-it has circulated a lot for what its worth, so good for Sting!

I just came across this very funny Sting parody in another Toronto paper. It's based on something he said in the Toronto Star/Zoomer article. Man, and I thought some of us were tough on ol' Sting!

I've heard Soul Cake twice on the Spectrum on Sirius. It's definitely growing on me. Have you seen Sting's Christmas message on his site? OMG.. The beard is full, with a mustache... He seriously looks like Santa.. Ugh.

Hilarious "review" of the album http://popdose.com/the-eighth-day-of-me ... sstingmas/

In part:
Jason: I mean, if you told me this was the soundtrack to A Droopy Dog Christmas, I’d be okay with it. Also, what the hell does this have to do with the holidays?
“Oh let me freeze again to death?” Is that what he said? Because that’s exactly what I’m thinking!

Jeff: It’s Sting taking a holiday from giving two shits.

Jason: Wait, that’s the end? That’s how it ends? “O let me freeze again to death”?

Jeff: Unless you have it on repeat, like I do. Which I do not recommend.

Jason: I do not. WHAT KIND OF HOLIDAY SONG ENDS WITH “O LET ME FREEZE AGAIN TO DEATH”? That’s AWFUL! He should have called it “The Ballad of Stewart Copeland.”

Jeff: I wonder if this is an original song, or some traditional track he dug out of, like, the Necronomicon.

All nutters should be buying this record....In fact I can call Il Palagio and maybe get a full case discount....just think of all the plastic we will have consumed....AND all of the brazilian charcoal used to make electricity so that we may listen to this cozy album by the fire that we light with american wood...making carbon dioxide in the process...

or like I said before...live like the Amish and SAVE THE WORLD!!!!!

just kiddin folks!!!! In an ironic mood today!!!
Merry Christmas....Happy hannukah.

I gotta admit, I really like Soul Cake. But I have heard little else from this album, so I have no opinion about the quality of the other songs. I have little interest in even hearing the rest of the album. It's not because I'm a Stingaphobe. As an inhabitant of a Northern clime, I'm just turned off by the whole theme. I'm already freezing my buns off at the moment. I have no more inclination to buy this than a teenager would have to buy an album that has the theme of acne. Like acne and the teenager, winter is a part of what defines us Northerns, but it doesn't mean we're happy about it. I'd rather be grooving to a reggae or socca Christmas album right about now.

I had intended to purchase the DVD with my Christmas money and then the price went up. Somehow I think by next Christmas the mood will be gone.
