I already had tix for Claypool as well, so see y'all there!

I'm so happy that we get the HH bonus. Thought I'd never get to see that!

My tix are balcony as well, for the same reasons Sock has. Plus, I'm short ;)

I grabbed one for Montclair, too. (If Pullet comes with me he'll probably skip the show to hang out with his sister.)

Guess we'll need to start making preshow dinner plans or whatever soon....I'm sure there are some great classic diners around, one of my favorite things about visiting that area of the country.

MOTHERFUCK!!!

vespa gave me the wrong date for the wedding we have to go to that weekend. It's on the 5th, so we WON'T be able to go to the Montclair show after all :( :( :(

Which means I have a pair of tickets (which I've already received) I'd like to resell to a nutter who could use them.

We'll be planning to go to the Atlantic City show Sunday night (the 6th) instead. Is anyone else planning on AC?

Bummer! Sorry to hear it, sock. No AC for us, but enjoy!

Transportation-wise, driving is the standard, but there are public options: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montclair_ ... sportation , but routes are set up for commuters rather than tourists, so it's doable depending on how and where you're coming from (or how much patience you have).

The issue is that the Montclair-Boonton line (the necessary train line) connects in Secaucus rather than Newark, so to get from Newark Penn Station to Montclair by trains alone, you have to go east to Secaucus and connect to go west again. But if can get yourself to the Newark Broad Street Station, you can hop one bus and head directly to Montclair. To get from Newark Airport, you have to add one more short step to get from the airport to the relevant Newark city-area train stations/bus stops cuz the airport is its own thing.

From Hoboken, it looks like 2 busses: 1 to Newark/Broad & State Streets, then 1 to Montclair.

From Port Authority, it's 1 NJ Transit or DeCamp bus to Montclair.

Even that veer to connect in Secaucus isn't *hard*: in fact, it's one of the least complicated options. But it can be annoying to see it on a map and see how you're heading too far one way in order to head back in the other.

What you want to do is go here: http://www.njtransit.com/hp/hp_servlet. ... HomePageTo and use their handy-dandy Trip Planner to go through different scenarios. Be sure to try different stops/stations and different train only/bus only/mixed options as well because sometimes doing so will give you more logical results. In some cases, the space between stops/stations is only a few blocks, but it can make a world of difference in the route logic; in other cases, you just can't get there from here.

For DeCamp bus lines, go here: http://www.decamp.com/schedules_routes.asp . You want the 33 and 66 lines between NYC and Montclair (they run later (and I think more often?) than the NJ Transit bus (I think)), but there may also be suburban area routes in there that might be helpful (I'm not sure), so it couldn't hurt to poke around.

Otherwise, grab a cab or rent a car, and you're in Montclair in about half an hour. I haven't been there in many years, but it's generally a large town with walkable areas with stuff to look at.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

.....annnndddd....there's always the 10 June show at The Madison in Covington KY, for those unable to make it to the NJ shows! The pizza here is in no way up to Jersey 'pie' standards, but there is plenty of great, non-pricey local places nearby.....nice views of the Ohio River as the sun begins to set....

YO:
I'm down for some of this merriment if I can make it to Mont Clair Saturday.
Anyone else going to any of the other gigs?
I'd love to do the New Hope show, but can't.

The only shows that are really practical for me is the Studio at Webster Hall gig and the Atlantic City gig.
In theory, the Pittsburgh show is also possible.

I gather Sockii and Vespa are going to AC.
Anyone else?
I am going to endeavor to AC, mainly because I think I owe Betsy the courtesy of checking out Les in person.
(It's been 20 years since I last saw Primus, I think.. Maybe 18.)

All righteeeee! Thanks for the update, Dive, but you failed to mention that HHS is also playing NxNE in Toronto on June 18. I should be well enough mended by then and it's a Friday night. Which local Nutters are willing to come out to this gig and welcome Vaughn (Ramuthra) home? Yeah, he's from B.C., but it's the only Canadian date thus far. Oh, and we'd be welcoming Jordan and Beatamax, too, of course.

Heh, heh. It was just about this time last year that Ramuthra, with demos in his hand and aspirations in his heart flew in to Toronto to see the Sting hospital benefit gig. We were supposed to meet up, but my kid's soccer schedule got in the way. I'll be sure that doesn't happen this time! (Seeing as the show is at freakin' 11:30 at night, I don't imagine a junior soccer game will get in the way.)

I was just looking at the dates on the HHS site again and got a good chuckle out of some of the locations. Apparently, Tennesse, Buffalo and NY, NY are all in the UK or GB. Somebody didn't do too well in geography and/or history class. If this is the first sign of some secret reappropriation scheme by the new British government, smudge may want to talk to them about the wisdom of reclaiming Buffalo.

Hey, I'd love it if the UK were to all of a sudden claim Tennessee. They'd likely be able to do something about all the gun nuts, as well as ignoramuses that claim we should dismantle the government (while they have their hands out, of course, for flood relief, business subsidies, etc.) We can offer up a fine cultural heritage and some good eatin' in return.

Glad to see HHS adding more dates. This'll be a great time.

re: Montclair

1. SOLD. Looks like Mo's going to be out of town, so I've now got an extra ticket in my possession. Whoever wants it, give me a shout. Cost was $30.

2. Pre-show gathering: I may have a meeting that day, so I'm not sure what time I'll be able to get there yet, and I'm afraid I'm just no help finding a meet-up location right now. But to make whoever can handle it's job a little easier, I just scrolled through the thread, and here's the list of folks attending the show as far as I can gather:

GinaSuperCat
PapaCat
Divemistress
Conroy
Policerule
DM
