Hey EQ,

I collected everything I could get my hands on to answer the question...the whole reason I started drumming was because of Stew....I began practicing The Police stuff in 3rd grade...lol

And as far as Freudian Slip, I have a copy do you need it since it is out of print?

3rd grade? Wow.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass on the Freudian Slip. Recently I've been so busy there is a TON of stuff I've gotten in the last few months that I haven't listened to / watched yet.

However, changing topics, now I am not sure what this thread is all about. I guess I don't read posts as closely as I used to.

I'm ignoring my usual policy of not responding to your flamebait, DBMI, against my better judgment. Don't know why you get your jollies by logging on here and trying to get people to fight with each other, but it seems to be your raison d'etre. I'm only writing this because others may not be aware of your history with us.

Personally, I think a "who's the biggest fan" argument is a total waste of time, and I doubt sincerely any of the members of the band (who probably would be the ultimate arbiters of this kind of thing) give a flip which albums or movies or whatever any of us own. Further, I doubt any so-called real fan with the interests of the band or the community at heart would be trying to discourage others from enjoying them.

As far as trading goes? I'm sitting looking at a 4" binder chock full of CDs and DVDs that people from this community have mailed me, most after only an idle comment or two here on the message board. Frankly, this is the most generous group of people I know and it offends me to see it characterized otherwise. If you're not getting something you want, gosh - could it be your attitude that's the problem, DBMI?

OK. Back to ignoring you now, until you start trying to find something more constructive to talk about (other threads currently showcase your negativity on such topics as Hot Head Show and the Nashville music scene, neither of which I think you know much about, either.)

Wow that is all I will say wow...everything has to be so politically correct these days...heaven forbid you think for yourself...this post was nothing more to find out where everybody stood on their fandom of Copeland and the ethic of sharing which is noble...but as usual everybody blows things way out of proportion and reads what they want...so fine dive "make me out to be the devil's spaun" like I care.

The comment about the Nashville music scene...is just ludicrous....I live here I know what goes on behind the scenes here.

Oh and by the way I 'll be a 2nd Ave Live Sunday night jamming...but I know nothing about it right.

This kind of question should really be in a Poll format, Giovanni. Then we can vote on it.

Yes Giovanni- you are insane. That would be a crazy thing to do. Why would anyone want to look at a Stewart Copeland website, or 'chat' to other Copeland enthusiasts? There's no way anyone will get any pleasure/friends/useful information from a website ;-) (Actually - you ARE insane - you and all Team Italia, because you keep doing it.) xx

There seems to be a bit of yelling going on. I read the original post in this thread last week and thought that dontboxmein was making a point that there should be more sharing of SC rarities - and that this should be regardless of 'longevity' as a collector. His implication seemed to be that some people don't choose to 'share'. I think the post was ill-judged in that respect - it is up to the individual to decide what they will do for others. But it seems that the gentleman in question is being bashed for a mis-reading of his post: specifically, the misapprehension that he suggested there should be some qualifying criteria for being a 'fan'. He didn't say that. It would be a silly thing to say.

In the grand scheme of things, none of this matters much I guess, but it is uncomfortable to witness a row breaking out in a comfy lounge that we're guests in.

I had no intention of wading into this thread. However, smudge's post so eloquently summed up my own thoughts on the whole matter that I had to chime in with a "what she said".

It may sounds weird, but I can tell you that when Stewart and I met the first time, he was obviously happy to see that someone did something like that but at the same time he wasn't 'so' sure that there could be such an interest in his persona (he discovered that I am not the only insane...hihihi).
Same thing with Jordan, when I met him at the Bellydance shows in Milano some years ago...he said something like 'a website for my father? Do you really think there is such an interest in him to open a website???'

Hm. Looks like Jordan's gonna need his own fan website before too long! NOT that I'm volunteering you for the job, Gio...(and the official HHS website looks great, I think)

On this other: Clearly I personally disagree as to some things DBMI said, here and in other threads (Nashville is the 'armpit of touring'? Yeah, bud. Whatever. That's why we get bands here like Clapton, Green Day, Elvis Costello, more or less all the time, and one of the best music festivals in the country - if not the world - an hour away. Yeah, it's hard to make it here as a musician - because the competition is murder, not that the town itself is "a joke." Fans of Hot Head Show and Fiction, er, Crap, I think DBMI said, are blindly jumping on a bandwagon? Who's insulting who, exactly?)

In any event, I hardly think of this place a proper tea party where folks aren't allowed to say what they think, whatever it is. Especially considering some other, er, controversies we've had here over the years, some of them involving SC himself going off at the mouth (one would hardly expect his fans to be the most docile, perfectly-mannered people on planet Earth). But in the interest of not making this a bigger deal than it is, I'm personally willing to let it go. Clearly I can't stop whoever wants to from continuing to bump threads, though.

Clearly for the record you are sockii and wondeful and twisting words...once again for the third freaking time taken out of context!!!!

So dive if you were truly willing to let die..."like i did"...you would not have replied again and taken my quotes out of context...so let the record state what " I truly said"

Once again defending myself :

so dig what Hot Head Stands for "bucking the music industry" cause we all know it sucks today. But with that being said I am not a fan.

Nor am I a fan of Fiction Crap ...ooops I meant plane....These kids need to just let the legacy die with The Police.

I will never jump on the bandwagon to follow a crowd ...like so many do...case and point Sting with Orchestra...that is so gonna suck...and I am not willing to compromise to get on with everyone...just to be popular...Stewart ,Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, King Crimson, and Colin Hay are a few of the last of a dying breed of true artists.

I love the fact Stewart is scoring something for Gamelan Orchestra and also composing for marching band...AWESOME AWESOME KUDDOS TO STEWART and Gabriel just did a thing with Orchestra, but it wasn't pretentious like Sting...it was real.

I wonder how many of you knew what a Gamelan Orchestra was ...that it came from Bali and Java...I knew about this when I was 20.

Sting is out of Ideas...and unless he reunites The Police I am so over Gordo.

As true musicians we have to think outside the box and learn things that are not very popular...and go against the grain all my life I have done that.

Call me mad, but I sell out for no one and had that been the case I would be touring with a bunch of country hacks...I get the calls i just turn them down.

The only way for the music industry to survive is to boycott the fluff and bs...if we do not take a stand for true art...this music industry we love shall go up in flames.

Whew I am done...have a wonderful day.
