Stewart The DJ in Japan

Postby Midori on 28 Feb 2007 15:59

Hi everyone,

He will be on the music festival called 'PUNKSPRING 2007' in Tokyo as a guest DJ on April 1 (this is not a joke  ).
Unfortunately the tickets are sold out.

I wonder what kind of punk bands does Stewart like. Do anybody know
about that?

Please just see the link section.

I don't know, but I'd give my eyeteeth to find out. Last year he said he was listening to a lot of 'death metal'...but I'm convinced he listens to a lot of music he doesn't discuss in interviews.

Thanks for the update, Midori! Surely you can find a way to get in the door and write a review for us later. ;)

Sting had a tendency to whack him upside the head when he name drops other musicians!

"See?! *This* is what i have to put up with!"

I don't know about any new punk bands, but I've heard he's a fan of Slipknot and has spoken highly of Joey Jordison's double kick skills... beyond that, evidently he's quite good friends w/the guys in the Foo Fighters... Taylor the drummer practically worships the ground Stewart walks on (as a drummer, I certainly can relate...), perhaps hence the Foo Fighters opening slot at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on 6/23/07...

This sounds so cool...too bad the Tokyo leg is already sold out...Good Luck, Midori, I hope you are able to get it...I fancied winning the lottery and being able to go but if it's sold out, heh...As for punk, first and second wave would be a lot easier to figure but I am not even sure what constitutes punk nowadays...I'd think that Greenday has altered what goes by "punk" in some substantial ways...some old names do manage to stick around...I am just figuring out that the Circle Jerks did get back together and played in LA for a month...haha, nostalgia...first hardcore show I went to :)

Joey Jordison is completely is completely balls-out!

Yes, what a pity, it would have been cool being there...
