I definitely hear "What's to do"

For the first two syllables, it's possible it could be "w" and "t" as in "what's to".
not a very stingish lyric but possible. however the third syllable is not a hard consonant, certainly not a "d".
therefore it can't be " what's to do " IMO....
I still hear those three first syllables as two consonants followed by a "y" or vowelly type
sound. "wa" "soo"/"Che" and " yoo " ..

I should check some other sources as well to support my theory...!

"What's to do" was a film title and is sometimes used as an expression. I have several versions, including some unreleased soundboards, and it is pretty clear on 60% of the live recordings. Only Sting and co. can clarify this, quite frankly and no one else. A lot of Sting's live banter would obviously, not make any sense.

I have a clarity, NOT volume, related hearing problem, and well most lyrics sound to my ears like the one in question here!! ......

gah! just listened to about 8 different versions.
english-lion, yes, it could well be "what's to do", actually, or "watchin' you" or freaking "wat soo noo" etc
i give up.. (for now... until mr copeland can offer any advice on the matter... he was in the band after all!)

"Watchin' you walk through my head" makes the most sense of all the options, but "yo" does have a certain intrigue.
