Let your singer know that he sounds great, and we are looking forward to him flexing his vocal muscles, even if it means losing the Stingness a bit.

It's obvious your band has worked hard and gotten 'the sound' down and at your disposal, so now focus on the energy/rawness and see where that goes, then swing the pendulum back to 'the sound'. Dial the 'raw' back a bit and I think you'll find the balance you're looking for.
