This one was told to me during my brief and less than illustrious carrer as a drummer in a performing band.........The guitarist comes up to me after a gig one evening and says "Hey man, how is it that you have all these gorgeous women hanging off you all the time? Like, I'm the lead singer and guitarist and I'm out in front on the stage where everyone can see me and you're back there behind your drums?!" So I reply "The key to getting these beatiful women to take notice of you is to put a potato in the front of your pants before you go up on stage". Off he goes and after many repeated and failed attepmpts he comes back to me and says "So I tried this potato in the pants thing and it seems to be even worse now. None of the groupies will give me the time of day, what's the problem?" I look at him while trying to contain myself and say "You dumbass, you're supposed to put the potato in the FRONT of your pants, not the back!" I still get a laugh from this one!
