For realz. Nothing's scarier than facing major surgery, be it you or a family member. Hoping it all goes well - let us know once you hear anything.

Sending good wishes your way.

My father had open heart surgery 20+ years ago and is still with us. I believe such things are much more advanced than when my dad has it done in the late 80s.

You are correct, things have advanced, the recovery is 3-5 days in Hosp.! And then some extended care, which does vary.
It is Wednesday afternoon, and Dada is out of surgery and in recovery ICU. The surgeon said that he still cannot get over the great shape dad is in-actually double checked the birthdate-and that barring unforseens, he's on his way to full recovery.
THANK YOU all you Nutters!! My Mom and Dad are 'troopers', and have had a great spirit (as in "we survived the Great Depression AND WW2 what's a little surgery?..."), but am SURE all the Thoughts and Prayers made a difference!! Thank you thank you.
And we have beautiful snowy mountains outside to boot!
Thank you all again!
