OT: WHAT'S IT DOING OUTSIDE??

Only about a 1/2 to 1 inch . The streets look worse than where it's snowed on the grass. I really expected more based on all the hoopla the forcasters were making, but it's supposed to continue through midnight. My boyfriend is going out to the store in a few minutes; no Outback tonight.

Very hard. And about 26 degrees. Probably at least 4 inches now. This hasn't happened here in years!

dufmanno, I'm glad to hear DC is getting some snow. One forecast I heard yesterday made it sound like an entirely southern sweep. And that didn't seem likely.

Here in the DC area the snow has slowed down but still coming down. Last I heard suppose to get 4 to 6 inches. Have 4 or so already.

It's been a beautiful sunny day on the Isle of Wight but cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

Meanwhile, here in Toronto, I'm staring at a backyard of frozen dead yellow grass. Your one day of snow in Williamsburg easily surpasses the total accumulation of snow that we have had all winter. It's cold right now, but we just finished off a very long January thaw. Generally, the January thaw is a two or three day period in which the daytime high temperature goes above freezing. This year, we had three weeks where even the night time lows rarely dipped below freezing.

Good luck with the white stuff. Maybe you can pack it up and send it to Vancouver. They haven't much snow either and the Olympics are in two weeks.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

We had the same near Fredericksburg. I'm done with the snow for this winter. Looks like we might have some more stuff coming later next week.

It's already starting to melt here - we were just out trying to take photos of birds playing in it and kept getting splashed with slush by the rude SOBs that insist on driving their damned monster trucks @ 55 mph through our residential neighborhood. Sigh.

Skiing @ Steamboat next week - I hear their base is 27". Wonder if they'll have to do artificial snow in Vancouver??

What I wouldn't give for 60 degrees right now. I'm wearing a freaking Snuggie already. I look like my 90 year old Nana.

January in Vancouver went down as the warmest on record. It hasn't gone below freezing (even at night) since the beginning of December. Cypress Bowl Resort is the local Vancouver mountain hosting some of the snowboarding and freestyle ski events for the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics. They've had to move snow from the higher peaks down to the venue locations as it is way too warm to make snow in the alpine regions right now with no sign of colder temps coming.

No. Just no. They are closing schools left and right and my kids are foaming at the mouth in anticipation. I'm just flat out crying.
Nothing coming out of the sky yet though. I pray they miscalculated and that this storm bypasses DC.
