It is a BBC program that airs now and then on VH1 Classic.

A great look at the history of rock.

But I don't know where the Police are in it, though.

Now that I think about, I believe the Police are mostly in #5, Stadium Rock.

I haven't seen this whole thing, just the Police part which (I think) was up on Youtube not too long ago. Cool stuff!

here's a link to the beeb pages about the programme:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/sevenages/

Memory award for nj: The Police are in Episode 5:

We Are The Champions Stadium Rock 1965-1993
We Are The Champions follows the development of some the biggest names in Rock, among them Queen, Bruce Springsteen, The Police and Dire Straits and shows how, through events such as Live Aid and the rise of MTV, rock achieved a global influence on culture and politics. The film concludes in the early 90s, as U2 effectively brought the era to a close by reinventing the big rock show so completely, that fifteen years later most major rock tours are still pale facsimiles.

and there's a short teaser clip which starts with Andy talking about the early days:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/sevenages/pr ... champions/

but there's a three minute video with andy and "stuart" (tssk) which starts with the old grey whistle test "can't stand losing you" ; click; 'watch the short film'.

here's the Bio page on the police; with some flickr hosted photos at the bottom of the page... wait a minute; is that our hero?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/sevenages/ar ... he-police/

so you got a coupla weeks to go, jan......
