Sounds like we have some uninitiated (mwahaha) to initiate. If you've not been to a BDSS show: go go go go go. These women are really insanely talented, and the costumes alone would be worth the price of admission even if that weren't the case. Tickets are usually pretty reasonable, also.
BDSS has had involvement by a lot of Copelands: Stewart's kids help out, so do Ian's (though I haven't heard much on Miles' own kids doing much with it). Miles himself attends some of the shows and I'm told it's a hoot to talk to him there (he seems to miss the Nashville ones, regrettably).
Anyway, the gig is well worth your time and attention. Miles has said he thinks of bellydance as a way to educate Westerners about the Arabic-speaking world, a worthy goal on the face of it.
