Very OT - Wake me up when it's 2011

Very OT - Wake me up when it's 2011

Postby moonstone on 10 Jan 2010 12:22

The year's got off to a bad start.

Had a bad tooth pulled out on Monday, the cam belt on my car snapped on Tuesday and a neighbours water pipe burst knocking out my water supply for 4 days.

As if this wasn't enough my beautiful 30 year old ex-racehorse had a huge heart attack and dropped dead on the yard yesterday.

I don't think I'm ever going to stop crying.

I'm going back to bed. Someone please wake me up when this year's over.

Oh no, Maria! I'm so sorry to hear about all your misfortune.
Have a good cry and when you're ready you have to pull your boots back on
and trudge on. Things will start looking up.

Wake up.....wake up!

No, it's not 2011 yet,
but I just want to let you know
how sorry I am about your racehorse!

Did you race with it?

Moonstone, I have you in my "Good Thoughts" already! I know what you mean about your horse, especially. Each equine is an irreplaceable personality.......
Several folks close to me are also having this sort of beginning in 2010 too, for what its worth. God bless, hang in there.

Thanks everyone for the lovely hugs and nice thoughts and messages.

I had to get up because Policefan called me and the dogs wanted a game of snow football and when you've got dogs you damn well will be cheered up whether you want to be or not!

I bought my lovely old boy Jim in 1986 after he was dishonourably discharged from the racing world (he kept bucking the jockeys off at the start of the races.) I've had so much fun (and bruises) with him over the years doing cross country, long distance rides, show jumping and just plain mucking about at home. I'm still trying to figure out how to put a photo up so that you can all see what a handsome chap he was.

I've seen so much kindness over the last few days. The local farmers who couldn't get up the roads through the snow to our yard simply took down fences and came across country to take care of my boy. People who knew Jim and me from 20 or so years back have phoned and e-mailed and left lovely messages and made me laugh by reminding me of all the times he bucked me off on to my backside or jumped fences out of his field and was half way to the next county before we caught up with him. And wonderful hugs from you guys from across the miles who are always there whatever time of the day or night it is. It really does mean so much. X

Good vibes going out to you, moonstone, and everybody else experiencing a bumpy start to 2010.
