Whatcha readin'?

Most Haunted Island By Gay Baldwin

This is the sixth book, in this series, of ghost stories from the Isle of Wight. We've got a lot of ghosts here.

I like them because they give lots of info on Island history and as an Islander I recognise many of the buildings that the author talks about.

Perfect books for a cold, dark and creepy winters night.

This should NOT ignite any OT history discussions    ......After hooking my boyfriend up w/ some tasty Italo Calvino for the Holidays, I am going to be reading some more of the Borges (the poet/author, NOT the funny Victor piano-man) collection of his/BF that i ahd borrowed back at Th'Giving. More soulful and less brainy than Calvino, but a similar inventive picturesque and surprising soft of vignette type writings. Oh, and the Dec. 09 copy of Classic Bike oo-oo!

Thank you, you wonderful, literate, always interesting, and just plain cool like that Nutters! On my way to the library. Looking for: The Evolution of God, The Book of Negroes, Knitting Without Tears, Porno, Push, and Fool's Gold. Smudge and Dive - love to take up small studies of my own. When I'm through with as many of these as I can obtain and/or digest, I am going to go back and read your posts to edgumacate myself and start reading up on your interests.

Thanks, thanks, thanks!

You gotta love those after Christmas sales on books.
I picked up (all 10 pounds of it) Andy Summers' book "I'll Be Watching You Inside The Police 1980 - 83" for less than $20.00 CDN at the Indigo/Chapters store last week. Not exactly reading material but full of great photos.

"The God Delusion" by the compellingly eloquent and archly humerous Richard Dawkins.

"Alice in Wonderland" with illustrations by Mervyn Peake.

and "1,001 DIY Hints" (SO much to do.... >sigh<)

Wot? Y'all become illitrit or sum'in? Nobody's doin' no readin'?

I've been too busy to read much more than the newspaper and my students' poorly written French tests. All very depressing stuff. But I have been listening to Strange Things Happen as I drive to and from work, and that's been delightful.

Family of Secrets by Russ Baker. A great conspiracy theory book about the Bush dynasty. I've been so busy lately that I've only been able to pick it up sporadically and this book is the type of book that is easy to get back into if you haven't read it in awhile.

Loved Into The Wild.
All his books are good reads, I especially enjoyed "Under the Banner of Heaven".
Loved the film version, thought that Sean Penn did an awesome job making it into a movie.
Have we got touchdown

I've gotten hooked on Christopher Fowler's Bryant and May mysteries ever since someone gave me Bryant and May On The Loose for Christmas. I just finished The Victoria Vanishes and am about to start White Corridor. I love the characters and the descriptions of London.

I've also recently read George Carlin's Last Words and Michael Palin's Diaries The Monty Python Years 1969-1979.
