Hello everyone,

Apologies for not introducing myself, my name is Robert and what a cool and informative site this is.

Anyway, I have always thought the good Dr Gray captured the Police sound better than any other producer, so Stewart if you are reading get him on board for the next Police record!!

Regards

Robert

i am disturbed that the police collectively don't like zenyatta mondatta. It's their best album and nigel gray was much better than padgm. Padagm screwed up ghost in the machine with horrible production. he clearly was out of his depth at this point but redeemed himself with synchronicity which is much cleaner in production sound.

stewart we the fans love zenyatta mondatta . it's like one of the best albums ever. the bass is something else. thank you so much.

i'm going to listen to hungry for you to see if i can salvage something from ghost in the machine. btw spirits in the material world is my favourite police single.

No matter how brilliant, I can kinda understand the hesitation since they, what, recorded it in like 3 or so weeks and left for the world tour immediately upon finishing it, like the same day...we all know how that goes...you turn something in under those conditions and--no matter how brilliant--it doen't feel like you had the time...its a blur anf you wonder how it was possibly finished!

I don't agree that Ghost suffers from 'horrible production.' I do, however, think Nigel Gray's work is something special. Glad to hear he's still live and kicking..

A new record would be cool but i'm not sure if that will happen. However, if a new record was to be released my vote would be for them to hook up with Nigel Gray.
