Meh, now I feel old AND depressed. I love that they are selling the original art. That is one of my favorite album covers of all time.

Very nice. Good cover art was always an extra bonus to an album.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

Ya know, I got nine Beatles albums for my 9th birthday. Maybe the trick for all of us was starting us young....I have an older relative who took me to see 'Beatlemania' around that time, the year before Lennon was shot. In a way, I'm glad I remember the murder, but in another way, it's just kinda the wound that doesn't ever heal, you know?

I fell in love with my mom's Beatles albums when I was all of about 3 or 4 years old. Trufax. For years as a kid I was a total music snob and would listen to nothing but the Beatles (I remember bringing in her Hard Days' Night lp for 1st grade show-and-tell...this was like around 1978 when everyone else was all about disco, Grease, and the BeeGees...) I had their pictures all over my walls and learned to play piano from Beatles song books. I know for a number of years as a kid my Christmas gifts were often Beatles' (and related solo) albums and rarities to fill in what was missing from her collection (oh, the joys of my grandparents hearing "Why Don't We Do It In the Road" blasting through the house to my innocent ears!) I used to annually, at least, have a day where I would do nothing but listen to all Beatles albums chronologically (Grandma liked the early stuff. Mom liked the later stuff. Grandpa hated it all and was only happy when I eventually got into Pink Floyd...)

My first purchased album may not have been the Beatles, but they were definitely my first musical love.

I also remember seeing Beatlemania at Radio City Music Hall...and then the shock of coming home from school one day to find out that John Lennon was dead. I may have only been 8 years old at the time, but it was the first time I was dealing with the death of some one who meant a great deal to me, even from afar. I don't think I'll ever forget that day and how I felt, even as young as I was at the time.

whispers. in monochrome if such a thing is possible

"hey. rusty james".

long pause.
moody shot of steam rising.
an industrial backdrop which emerges from the darkness as if from a black canvas.
a starless sky.
reflections of trains in black and white puddles.
rusty james is seen to pause against a broken, defeated car lying in the gutter. he turns.
his silhouette against the wall. a grey wall which you get about 4 seconds to look at.

"Rusty James, i like your avatar"

ooh, i feel like i'm in rumblefish.
