OK, this is like one of those 'secret single behaviors' they used to talk about on Sex and the City...

But when my day's really craptacular, I go read Hallmark cards. The syrupy-er, the better. Also, I really like those big square motivational magnets they sell at Whole Foods...I'm trying to find a link, but searching for 'square magnet' is yielding all the junk you'd imagine it would...

Draw two big lines under the day Vespapod, either in your diary or in your mind. It was a shit day but that day is over.

Even if the problems are still there tomorrow you will never feel as bad as you did today with the first shock or sadness of hearing your bad news.

It just kind of helps you be stronger so that you can cope better or help others deal with whatever is going on
and whatever the fallout is.
