OT: I WENT TO SEE MARYLIN MANSON

MEN...i love going to the concerts of this guy! It's such a funny show, full of old clichè and new tricks...ehehe.

People take him too seriously and don't see what's behind; it's just a show full of music, music is at the center of his universe and nothing else matters. He's funny and loves what he does; he's a total Bowie-head, and you can easily get it going to his show. The setlist goes from very energic songs to darker ballads, but it's definitely a good rock show; he used to be more theatrical in the past (I saw many of his shows here), but I'm sure many people would change their minds on him just going to one of his shows to see the artist behind the image that the media gave to him (probably without even listening to the songs and not getting the message and the reason of his burlesque attitude).
I wasn't really impressed the first time I had the chance to go and see him, but after the show I discovered a great artist. From them on, I never miss a show when he comes to town.
The best record on my opinion is 'Mechanical Animal' (plain to see his reference to Bowie just from the cover).

To my dear Police fans, listen to opening track of his latest release, I'm sure you will like the easy bass line, but very efficent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTV8kGYSBWo

And remember...I can't sleep until I devour you....

Hi Gio

Well that was the first time I ever listened to anything by Marilyn Manson so cheers for posting it.

It kind of reminds me of Alice Cooper who I accidentally went to see in the eighties and found that I wasn't that keen on the music but was blown away by the theatrics.

Actually I quite liked this but he is one scary looking dude! Not sure I'd want to bump into him on a dark night though I'm sure he's very nice if you know him.

I bet he would put on a cool show. I wouldn't pay for tickets, but I would definitely go if someone offered. He's weird, but I always thought he was pretty cool.
“...and er, did anyone try just pushing this little red button?”

Anyone remember the urban legend which claimed he was one of the kids from the Wonder Years?

The Wonder Years was a family programme about a boy called Kevin (I think) and his family and friends. It was set in America and all about growing up in the 60's and 70's. It was very popular here in England too and was one of those sweet, funny programmes that everyone could relate to wherever you grew up. For some reason there was this urban myth a while back that Marilyn Manson was one of the child actors in The Wonder Years. Lord knows where that one started.

Don't worry, everyone does the same with me when they see me walking in a dark night...they change direction...I wonder why.
