just might have scored two codes from family members!! so what is it? I see all over E-bay people selling codes for $200, and the shows are not announced as of yet! is this fake? or can I obtain codes for shows that are not announced as of yet??? Chicago Il roerigraider1
Codes can only be obtained once a show is officially scheduled. For instance, East Rutherford codes were only available yesterday, the day before the Best Buy presale. And they can only be used for the specific show they are generated for - don't use 'em for that and they're not good for anything.

I'd be VERY cautious about buying codes over ebay...some folks have already been burned that way.

Full info at http://www.bestbuy.com/thepolice

Another recommendation from a friend - even if you're too late for this round of presales, it might still be worth signing up for a Best Buy Rewards Zone membership now if you haven't already. It's free, and you never know...if there's a second round of US tour dates in the fall or early '08, your memberhsip might be good for a code by then...

 I have more advice:

Don't give up if it says it's sold out right away. People don't complete their transactions in time and their tickets go back into rotation. I've heard anywhere from 15 mins to 30 mins after the start of the sale is a good window to try for these.

Also if you can't get anything, try again at one hour, an hour and 1/2, and 2 hours. These tickets someone tried to purchase, but their credit card didn't go through or there was some other transaction issue. This method I know for sure works, as I did this today and got floor seats for Denver!

Hmm, hadn't heard that, but if all the U.S. dates for at least the summer leg of the tour will be announced by then, I suppose it makes sense...

It's in the fine print on one's Best Buy Reward Zone membership on the Police tour page. I noticed it the other day when I signed up for online access to my account...So looks like BB won't get the best presales forever.

Guess it's time to go join membership programs at Radio Shack, Circuit City and Comp USA...;)

Or it could mean there will be another round of presales for the fall leg of the tour that will allow people who joined BBR after 2/1 but before some new cutoff date.

That would be my hope, as I signed up for BBR solely to get info and that would be a nice bonus for the Florida shows!

Is it wise to just go for best available or plot out your most wanted and go for those?

Hey guys, couple updates from the folks at TPT.com...

* Apparently a couple people got tickets cancelled by mixing and matching BB and Fan Club presale codes. There's a theory that Ticketmaster's being hardassed about the 2 tix BB / 4 FC / 6 general sales per household limit.

* Folks report that throwing back seats, then searching for next best available, might get you locked out of Ticketmaster. Some people were able to do it repeatedly, but one woman said she got locked out about her 10th try for better seats.

Caveat emptor, I suppose...

Is that just per individual show, though? That is, you can only do 2 tix BB / 4 FC / 6 general for each particular show?

I don't know, girlfriend. You might want to call your local Ticketmaster outlet in the morning. Crossing fingers for you.

I think that's the first thing I'm doing tomorrow.

Not that I've exceeded any limits yet, but someone wanted me to buy her BB tickets tomorrow, and if I'm gonna get in trouble or lose tickets because I already got BB tickets for another show...well, we'll have to find some other way to do things.

Might not be a bad idea to come up with Plan B, unless this is a REALLY good friend.

I just edited the other thread...apparently if you already have hard tickets in hand, you're cancellation-proof. So that's some consolation.

I just can't believe they'd restrict people to six general-sales tix per tour. Do the folks running TPT.com not realize how many fanatic fans The Police have? I'm sure it's an anti-scalping measure, but still.

Update: From the "Can you buy more than one membership" thread under 'Presales' at TPT as reported by laughgirl70:

Hi guys!

It's up to four tix to one show per membership. If you have already used your presale code and want to take part in another fan club presale you will have to take out another membership.
So that's one way to expand your capacity. The extra membership cost does come out to only $8 or so extra per ticket if use your entire allotment.

Here's the full terms and conditions of the Best Buy program.

(link goes to BestBuy.com)

I don't see any mention of "purchases per household" - only the two ticket per member language. Maybe Ticketmaster can provide more info.
