This "guy" is me!

Its only 2 books (one for Charlie Arnold) and 2 pictures of my drum kit. And I completely forgot to get my sticks signed!

Ops! Sorry!

Well, I had as well so much stuff to sign (Amy surely will remember!) and I forgot too to let sign my drumsticks

I was thinking of having Stewart sign my guitar - the one in my avatar.
Andy signed it twice a few years ago.

It's funny because you can clearly see the drumsticks in the picture. :) So close! I had to go back a 2nd time to ask Stewart to sign my drumhead. We both overlooked it, but he was very cool when I came back (at the prompting of event staff who didn't care if I was going through without a book the 2nd time).

Woohoo! I got my signed copy of STH from Amoeba in the mail today. It was about time that I finally procured SC's signature. Of course, Stewart could still come out East and sign a book for me in person.

Also in my mail today was a newsletter for donors of Sunnybrook, the hospital Sting did a benefit for in Toronto back in May. There were two big pictures of Sting inside next to an article about how much money the concert raised ($2 million). This was kind of creepy. A few weeks ago when I received my pre-ordered STH in the mail, I also got my university alumni magazine which included a big picture of Sting next to some beaming woman. Apparently, I share my alma mater with the producer of that brain documentary that Sting was in. It seems that into every SC induced joy a little Sting must fall.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.
CLOUD 9 TO EARTH! CLOUD 9 TO EARTH!!!

- and then I descended the stairs and shakily back into the arms of my trusted paparazzi girls - Laurie, who shot AMAZING pics - it will take her a while, but I have seen them on the camera and WOW -
I'm working on the pics...I'm such a frign techno-phobe...actually, I just have to get set up on a pic-sharing site somewhere. Anyway, I hope to have them up by the end of the week. Worst case, I'll email them to someone to post for me.

Also to note when I spoke to Stewart...

1. Dallas Symphony...program starts in 2010, but his commission isn't until 2011 (I believe TOWOS mentioned this).

2. Ben Hur...he went to sign my CD insert..."were you there?"...no <drat>...I scored a copy from a fellow "nutter"...and he proceded on..."not my finest moment". He was not happy with the way the music turned out.

3. Talked to him about the audio book...as I downloaded it and listed to about 3.5 hrs of it on the flight to SF. He wasn't happy with that either...the producers had screwed up the reading of the actual "chapter titles"...several were omitted...I had noticed that as well, so we chatted about that briefly.

He was gracious and friendly. It was a thrill. And nice for Amy's B-day. Lil E was a riot...at least we didn't have to scrape her off of the floor. It was great to hang with the group for coffee afterwards.

More to follow later.

 @ Bets and Laurie - I have been reliving The Day again in your words...Laurie, although you are a great photographer, could you please let me preview the pictures before posting them anywhere?

I rather like the CD. I wonder why he was disappointed?

I'm actually relieved to read that cuz, truth be told, I find it to be pretty bad. I know a crapload of energy went into it, and parts are nice, and props to all involved for the hard work; but I gotta agree with Stewart's assessment -- which doesn't happen all that often.

Nice to finally hear from you, Sandy and Laurie. Looking forward to more photos.

And nice to see that Lil' T is still breathing.
Dramatic highlights & a unique musical cosmos. Guaranteed.

I enjoy the Ben Hur CD myself. It is a more diverse work than most soundtracks are and parts shine more than others.

On the news that the Dallas show won't be until 2011, in some ways I am sorry to hear but it might make it more likely for me to be able to attend since baby won't be quite so small then.

I wonder now what Stewart will be doing in 2010 is the Dallas orchestral premiere isn't until 2011. Work on Wall Street 2 presumably and I wonder what else.
SC-There are a few crazy people on this planet. Sure sign of that is that they kinda like my music

Sorry, I'm slow and sleep-deprived and planning on using the Surgery Defense for every thing that I screw up for the next few months. Question, which might be stupid, but here it is anyway:

Meaning some sort of festival that happens over the 2010/2011 changeover? (I.e., SC's piece should occur in January/February 2011ish?)

[Again, I realize that could be me being stupid. Just trying to decode.]
