Sting interview in The Sunday Times

Sting interview in The Sunday Times

Postby moonstone on 18 Oct 2009 20:59

There was a Sting interview in todays Sunday times prior to the release of his 'Winter' album.
Does anyone collect this stuff but couldn't get a copy?

I've read mine if anyone wants it?

Interesting if for nothing but the fact that he won't talk about the reunion tour. What is the big deal with that tour that makes them not want to discuss it?

Could it be the wheelbarrows full of money he got from agreeing to do the reunion tour and the fact that all the songs they performed were written by Sting?

It's an interesting article. The interviewer got Sting to really open up about himself and his past.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

It will be interesting to see IF David Letterman asks Sting about the reunion tour when Sting is on the show later this month. Or will it be verboten? OR does Dave not agree to that sort of thing?

Otherwise, yes, I agree with Luddite Lady, the interviewer got him talking about serious shit that we haven't heard before.

Interesting interview, he talked about things you wouldn't think he'd open up about. The only thing I didn't like is that he doesn't want to talk about the reunion tour or the Police and how he makes it clear (again) that he doesn't want to do it again...

it does bug me when he says that he's just gordon from wallsend when he strolls around newcastle... bollocks, i'm afraid.

nice interview, and i'm pleased to see that he was a bit prickly.. and i liked the 'taking the interviewers' water' thing, very larry david. and the mention of the odd throaty sonorous voice which gordo has obviously seen fit to employ.

he's evidently seriously moved on from the po'leece tour.

i, for one, would much rather that he had done a 'normal', cheese-laden, rockin', sleigh-bell riddled, almost comedy, christmas album (and that's saying something 'cos i dislike chrimbo)... santa claus is coming to town..... or an authentic soundalike tribute to the motown christmas albums from yesterdayyear....
