I have a really perverse fondness for McCartney II.

I was all of about 7 years old when that came out and deep into my Beatles love at the time...recently put it on my ipod and I have no shame in admitting I still love much of that album...so thanks for that video link...have not seen that in decades!!!
Funny, I hadn't thought of that video for probably 20 + years. I started reading this thread, thought of McCartney II and I just flashed back to watching that video and seeing Paul and Linda as the whole "Band" and then found it on You Tube.

With his take on "New Wave" as the keybord player. Was he supposed to be Split Enz or Flock of Seagulls or had those videos come out yet?

Aldo Nova. He's from where I grew up; Montreal.

His biggest song was "Fantasy". He played all the instruments in the recording but used a band for the video.

The music part starts at about 1:28.

Nowhere near McCartney caliber but I rememeber how flabbergasted I was when I learned that just one person made that song .

Anyone remember this tune?

KT Tunstall: Don't know if she ever recorded this way, but I saw this live on the Today show a few years ago and was really impressed. The clip doesn't show the build up from Matt Lauer, but he said that she had gone in to demonstrate her song for their producer, who was so impressed that he/she put her on the air that same morning. Pretty freaking groovie.

I remember. I wish I didn't, but I remember. Aaah the 80's. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. It was the best of hair. It was the worst of hair.

And the guy's leopard skin jumpsuit made him look like Edith Prickly in need of a body waxing.

The legendary Keith Moon did "Two Sides Of The Moon" - an much underrated classic!
Musically it's not quite KK as it features other musicians, but nontheless it's definitely worth getting!

Here's "I Don't Suppose" - my all-time favourite track from "Two Sides.."

I beleive that in most, if not all of his surviving recordings, Robert Johnson played all the instruments.

I guess that doesn't count since all the instruments is Johnson playing his guitar.

But Robert Johnson playing just his guitar is better than all but a few bands of many instruments, regardless of whether there are few or many players.

Les was going to be my contribution (thanks EQ), but didn't Howard Jones do all of his music by himself? I will Google this now.

To NJperry.

what one is it again? "Teraplane Blues" sounds like two guitars at once.

Freakin impossible.

I remember Clapton showing how he can't really do it.

Cheers.
