Here we freakin' go again.

Here we freakin' go again.

The stooopid News of the World has taken a very few choice bits of Stewart's book and strung them together out of context to make Stewart look like a maniac on the verge of killing Sting during the reunion tour. The sub-headline (or whatever you call those things) shouts out "How feuding Police stars wrecked band's come-back". If the third most successful tour of all time is a wreck, I'll take a wreck anyday.
This is the type of thing I feared would happen if the advanced drafts had been released to unscrupulous hands. Now that the book is for sale, it's not such a big deal. You can just tell people to read the book and let it speak for itself. A few other news sources have picked up this story, condensing it to make it even more sensationally inaccurate.
Don't open this link if you haven't read the book and don't want to be "spoiled". Don't open this link either unless you want to enjoy a rush of indignant outrage.

"Despite buying Sting a tuba for his birthday, they were still bickering on stage in Italy later that year."

i love the use of the word "despite"... like giving someone a tuba makes everything ok or is a long accepted sign of reconciliation and love...

Smax, you mean you DON'T find yourself buying tubas left right and centre to make up for the odd cross word to a friend? Sheesh man, what planet are you on?! :P

Yeah the news of the world is your typical british tabloid toilet paper. Nothing new for them to print something like this.

I love the comment to the article that was left by one klark kent. It sounds like it might be THE klark kent.

The take of the review is expected but will disappoint readers who use this to decide to buy the book. The actual book has remarkably little about the conflict between Stewart and Sting, and many readers (even those that didn't see this review) will expect more on THE CONFLICT than the tome gives.

Ahem, this morning on 101.9 RXP Stewart assured Matt Pinfield that there is "a lot of conflict" in the book. So the conflict thing is being promoted by the author, why should we be surprised when the press picks up on it?
