I've been on three opiates this week, and I still haven't tripped hard enough to make sense of that video.

Hi, everyone (hi, Stewart). Thank you for all the well wishes and love. As I mentioned elsewhere, about a third of my face is asleep, but most of it isn't dead, so it should wake up over time. (Just assume that everything I say for a while is emitted through a gritted jaw à la Eddie Vedder.) My right ear is now purely decorative, but there were no complications, no surprises, my surgeon did an incredible job, and the problem was 11 times less bad than originally feared, so for someone who had a tumor and ear removed (the latter also reattached) just a few days ago, I'm doing pretty well.

Today's challenges: chewing overcooked carrots and overcoming my fear of the shower.

Much love to you all, and thank you. You guys have been enormous.

xoxo[/quote]

We are, indeed, scarily vast. There is no sense to be made of that video. Now about them carrots. Soup, dear lady, soup. Yes, it is messy with a sleepy face, but it beats all that tedious, careful chewing.

Yay! The Martini speaks! Hey, sweets. What an empathetic bunch we are. We're all watching the Sting video that sockii posted so that we can all feel spaced out and a little sick in solidarity with DM.

I think Sting saw Stewart's Horse Opera and was jealous of the Maestro's flair with the genre of cowboy wierdness. He was just trying to outdo Stewart. But man, that's gotta be at least five Horse Operas packed into three minutes of video. Still, one can't help but be impressed by Sting's ability to balance that dead squirrel on his head throughout the whole song.
In Dallas, the only game that really mattered was in the word gamelan.

SO thrilled to hear that things went as well as could be expected.

And nice of Stewart himself to show his support.

May as much of the face wake up as possible. (A cheer I have never given before)

Hi Kelly,

Im glad to "see" you hear. Its always best to hear from the person herself.

I hope that means that you'll be able to go home soon - if not there already. If home at least you can watch some DVDs and not worry about TV. [yes, it does suck, almost all the time]

So cool that S dropped in the send his well wishes. What a sweetie. Im sure that must of lightened your heart.

Take good care of yourself. :)

Thank you, Kellie, for giving us the scoop on your surgery and the how recovery is progressing!! It sounds as tho' very serious-would've scared the beejeepers out of me! Will continue to keep you in the prayers/'good thoughts'. We use a lot of fresh ginger tea for combating any sorts of inflamation, so if you can stomach it.......
All the best on your facial numbness, a frustating state no doubt.
REALLY glad to read how the Nutters & Stewart have stepped up for you, a really nice thing! 8)

Kel,
I'm so so glad to hear you are doing well and that it wasn't as bad as they originally thought. I hope Moe is taking good care of you. Get lots of rest.

2/3s of my face thank you very much. (The other part is having a sleep-in.)

Thank you, everyone. I really appreciate the concern. The shower and I are still on unfriendly terms (bleargh), but yesterday I ate some of Nancy's amazing curried cauliflower soup (yes, smudge, soup and I are well acquainted) without having to puree it. Very exciting!

Thanks, all, and much love to you.

I'd take a third of your face out to Starbucks if I were in town and if it'd help.

Soup is good.

And as long as Mo don't mind regarding the showers (do they even still clothespins anymore?), I'm sure you'll be fine.

Seriously, get better.

ETA The rest of you would be invited along to Starbucks as well.

Curried cauliflower soup sounds delightful, overcooked carrots not so much. It's good to know your recovery is going well. I had my own issues with showers after surgery, so I understand how you feel.

Amazingly enough, I had never seen that Sting video until now. Um, wow.

Nancy, I really want to try that soup, but I'm not making my ear a decoration only for those purposes.

Kel, I can't believe how you make me laugh through your misery... you're one amazing chick!

Two words: Sponge Bath.

May as well enjoy yourself if you can't shower. ;)
