Well, after devouring the book entirely yesterday and mulling on it overnight, I've written up my review. It's lengthy, so read it here:

Thanks, sock. I really think it's excellent, although as I wrote on your site, anything I write in praise will come out all "duh...errrr" in comparison. ;)

Thanks for sharing. I think you've got a couple of really outstanding insights there (the surreal quality of it all, and I'm loving the 'not the book you're looking for' device...)

Just got the book. Am thrilled to see so much about the solo work.

May be a while before I finish it since I go back to work tomorrow and the diapers still need to be changed. But so looking forward to it.
SC-There are a few crazy people on this planet. Sure sign of that is that they kinda like my music

Hey folks, Sock just posted a link to the book audio download (as read by STEWART!) @ http://www.booksonboard.com over on Facebook. I notice it's also already available on ITunes.

Wow!

(Think I'll actually wait for the CD release, tho...I'm a cover-insert fetishist. ;))

(Also, I posted a review over at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Strange-Things-Ha ... 969&sr=8-1

It's the only one right now, no trouble finding me. ;) Y'all may wanna jump in - might help the Maestro boost sales.)

That is waaaay up there, but Gene Simmons ("the guy with the tongue") de-tuning a school band, under the watchful eye of Stephen Stills and the author, then rethinking, 'OK.....bad idea....everybody back to concert pitch. I'll just tune my bass up half a step', complete with aircraft analogies, was fall-off-chair funny.

And there is The Katowice chiropractor as Lech Simpson

I had a very nice chuckle when Stewart shook the tree. (my favourite)

Just loved the description of the audience in the opera chapter, which gave me a good insight of what the artist is craving for.

He's a slave to music ...... here we go.

Oh, and I love those boots too.

I'm on page 70 right now but I LOVE IT! He's so funny. I'm trying to "save it" for when I'm not so distracted by the 600ka-zillion others things going on right now (life gets in the way).
PS I've just skimmed this thread... don't want to get SPOILED.

I'm somewhat surprised that no one has mentioned the first line of the Acknowledgements yet.

Good point, EQ. After all the threads about not being mentioned/being mentioned in the book.

The picture of SC and his family just brings me to tears! (Yes, I did read the Acknowledgement. And the Rap Sheet and Appendix. Just not "the end. Well, the Afterword is entitled The Green Flag. Can't wait to read what that's all about! But this is not to be confused with the SPOILER...)

Hey, speaking of the pic, can someone identify the family from left to right? or v.v.

What's the deal with only one reader review on Amazon.com? I know we are generally indie supporters, but don't we still usually get up reviews on Amazon.com for stuff like this?
