The new shirts look great in person! I just wanted to reach out and touch them when Gio and Eugenio revealed them. I think the design will definitely have a head-turning effect. And the long sleeves will be perfect for sporting in cooler weather.

After seeing the show a second time and listening to the show all weekend while riding around on the tube and buses, that I think the show was better for me the second time despite the technical difficulties during the Chariot Race. The music and vocals seemed to be mixed better and since I knew the plot, I wasn't as overwhelmed by the hyperactivities going on around the set. I hope it makes it to the US! And since only half the score is on CD (which is about an hour), maybe the boss could let Gio put some of the missing stuff up here.

It was great meeting you and Eugenio on Saturday night and hope we can meet again!

I think a lot of the stuff missing is similar to stuff released on the CD since many themes repeat throughout the show that correspond to certain characters like in a film score. But for me the one noticeably missing the most is the music from the orgy scene right after the intermission which features all the flame throwing and acrobatic stuff. There are a few places on CD that resonates with the music from that scene. But since it's one of the over the top and memorable moments in the show, the absence of piece in its full entirety on the CD was noticeable to me. There was another bit of music from the scene in the second half that I seem to remember wishing it was on the CD when I saw it the second time but those now dead brain cells didn't have a chance ;).

At the same time, I'm extremely grateful that we're getting an hours worth of original Stewart score on CD since most of his score releases are much shorter than that.

Audio recording of from Ben Hur Live (London Sep 19 afternoo

Hi folks,
I saw the Saturday afternoon performance and also had the impression that most of Stewart's narration parts are pre-recorded. He's just not used to mime to some playback so he always moved his head quite strangely so that the audience should not find out he's not talking 'live'...
but here and there he didn't synchronize at 100% when pretending to speak.

So, as I don't think he has learned the quite long text passages by heart, I guess that ALL of his narration was pre-recorded...and by watching the little video clips our beloved nutters have made this impression is growing on me.

Cheers,
Rüdiger

If anyone can provide a non-DIME download at some point, would be appreciated. Thanks!

sockii-- why does it matter? I haven't tried to download it yet (and I'm not a registered user of DIME). I'm techno-illiterate so I'm wondering what's up with this?

You need to be a registered DIME member to access torrents there, and they only have a limited number of memberships available at any time. I used to be registered there but if you don't log in frequently enough you lose your membership - and it can be a bitch to get one again unless you get really lucky. :(
