Season One of Spectacle: Elvis Costello with . . . is set to be released on DVD in the US and Canada on November 10, 2009. As you may recall, the Police are featured in an episode, which has separate interviews with Andy, Stewart, and Sting, a group interview, Elvis and Andy doing a Mingus cover together, Elvis and Sting playing some stuff together, Costello doing Police covers solo, and Costello and the Imposters teaming with the Police for a mash-up of Watching the Detectives and Walking on the Moon and then Sunshine of Your Love.

I did not realize that this was already available on iTunes, but this seems to be a must have.

By the way, Season Two is said to feature: Bono, The Edge, Neko Case, Jesse Winchester, Sheryl Crow, Ron Sexsmith, Ray LaMontagne, Lyle Lovett, John Prine, Levon Helm, Allen Toussaint, Nick Lowe, Richard Thompson, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul McCartney. You heard me. Paul FUCKING McCartney.

Jack Shit will be playing at the Baked Potato in LA on October 29, 2009. This features Imposters/Attractions drummer Pete Thomas and Imposters bassist Dave Farager (sp?). Tickets are only $15.

Thanks for the news EQ. I never got around to filling my prescription for this show at the Nutter Pharmacy. I'll just wait now to buy it for real and get all the other great shows from season one of Spectacle as a bonus. (And,er, I guess we all should buy it or you'll have to put your patented curse on a bunch of us.)
